After years of despair and disappointment while trying for a second child of their own, Maylin’s parents finally had their wish granted. Growing up in the Princedom of Fenn within the isles of Anthos, Maylin, her brother, and her parents were fairly well-off; her mother was nurturing and always looked for the best when it came to her two offspring, whereas her father was the foil to her mother, wanting the best for his children but taking a stricter path, one laced with tough love and rigorous education. Maylin’s early years were spent by her mother’s side providing medicinal herbs and doctoring to injured Ivae’Fenn -- the Princedom’s soldiers. While her father valued his son’s position in society, he did everything in his power to ensure his daughter would make use of both her parent’s skills and become a field medic for the Ivae’fenn alongside her brother.

From the time that she was young, Maylin knew she had a playmate in her brother; one that would run through the forest with her in the evening, and a protector, that would come between her and a blade if it were ever needed. With her brother being 20 years her superior, Maylin had a well-experienced tutor at home when it came to expanding her general knowledge and that of her heritage. A proud patriot, Maylin completed her medical training and general education with haste, launching herself into work wherever it was needed. She spent dozens of years studying alchemy to create medicine with the same level of effectiveness but less consumption of resources.

Since her younger years, Maylin has had numerous experiences while travelling. Initially, she felt at home while wandering between the various elven kingdoms in search of foreign herbs and new potion recipes, however she’s had more than a couple run-ins with unsavory bandits in the meantime. She managed to escape many of them by concocting a handful of potions that functioned as slow-acting poisons, enabling her to escape without being chased. In the time since, she’s spent a most of her days selling potions with no limitations upon request and when she isn’t occupied with her business, she travels between the kingdoms of Renatus, Fenn, Sutica, and Haelun’or in Arcas.
