After birth, he was brought up to reason. He could debate passionately and wanted to become a politician in the Holy Orenian Empire. He was impressed by its steadfastness and he thought it was admirable, how the empire rebuilt after the collapse of the first one.
Another burning passion he had was botany. He loved the herbs and flowers that grew in the tidy patches of his home city, some of which were considered nothing but parasitic weeds. He didn't like them because they looked pretty, but for what hidden potential lay in them. Some were carrying healing properties, while others could kill a man within minutes. So he studied them to his best capacities, while also fulfilling his many duties.
But his life vastly changed, when his parents, who were master arcanists, went missing. Then he was only 17, very young for an elf, and this incident shook him greatly. After a few of his father's friends took him in, he tried to find his parents, but all efforts were in vain. After many failed attempts, he abandoned all hope to ever see them again. He spent the rest of his Elven youth being trained in the art of combat and war. Those who took care of him hoped he would one day come to be an elite warrior. During that time he came into the possession of an elegant and strong suit of traditional elven armor. A family heirloom, left hidden by his father. Though he honored it and what purpose it was made for, Girnou was sick of his home, where he had fallen victim to such tragedy. He decided to travel the world, and discover, what lay beyond the cozy city walls he had known all his life. He worked hard to fund his travels, so he would not fall into poverty. Now, he stands at the brink of his journey through Arcas.
