Vredeman

You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Caught by surprise, he freezes up, eyes the crone and moves with caution to the cushion. "Excuse the unannounced disturbance, - apologises the traveler and makes a remark: - Even though you seem to be well-informed." The man sits down and gives the floating candles a glance. A thought goes through his head: "This might be it!". After a moment the tension disappears and, with a smirk, he proceeds: "If my story is what you need I can't deny but give it out." As he delves into memories and tries to depict them: "All of my childhood I have spent in orphanage, brought in as an unwanted offspring of two nobles, a spawn of their shame. Or so I was told. - he reflected. - While majority of the folk were of warrior sort, my proficiency wasn't lying with weapons, but with books." A slight of irritation appears on his face: "I had no legacy, the only way to make ends meet is to be a mere peasant, - he said through gritted teeth, - serving all those fools unable to see anything past their nose — they don't care nor they have compassion for anyone they find beneath themselves." - with anger he mumbled. Braccus takes a breath, his fury settles: "Well, - he continues, calmly: - The hard work paid off. I finally posses enough Minas for my enlightenment-seeking travel expenses and now, - as he adjusts his robe and leans in, - give me the knowledge I much desire, witch..."


P.S.  -  The part about Minas might be an overreach as I guess it'd be tied to the progress of the character on the server. The scenario probably doesn't give much info on his background, traits and goals, and there is a bit of a controversial part as I used phrase "a mere peasant", then proceeded to complain about the nobility overlooking the poor (let it be a display of the character's hypocrisy, icl I just didn't notice it at first).
