    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: To avoid powergaming, I focus on making my character's actions realistic and within their capabilities. I try to remember that my character isn’t invincible or all-powerful, and they shouldn’t always succeed without challenges. Instead of forcing actions or outcomes on other players, I phrase my moves in a way that allows for a response or counter. For example, instead of saying "I defeat you," I’ll say, "I attempt to strike you with my sword, aiming for your shoulder," leaving space for the other player to react. It’s about making the story collaborative and respecting the agency of others, rather than trying to control the outcome.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming disrupts fair roleplay by giving players an unfair advantage, as it allows them to act on knowledge their character wouldn't realistically have. This undermines the efforts of players who are fully immersed in the game, reducing the value of their hard work and decisions. It can break the sense of immersion and fairness that is crucial for a balanced and engaging roleplaying experience.

Roleplay Scenario:

Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

He glanced around the dim tent, then back at the old woman, his brow furrowing. “You’ve been expecting me?” he asked, hesitating before sitting on the cushion. “That’s not exactly comforting, considering I don’t even know why I’m here.” He sighed, brushing some damp hair out of his face. “Look, I don’t have some grand tale to tell. Just... got lost and ended up here." His gaze dropped for a moment before he continued, "I can’t exactly remember. I woke up a couple miles out of town and my name is Lelouch, but beyond that? It all seems lost.”
