Lucena was born in the city of Velaris to  a rather well off family, and so a nice home. Throughout the early years of her childhood she always had a bed to sleep in and a full belly and all would seem well within the family. Being an only child due to the poor fertility of female elves, Lucena grew up without any brothers or sisters, relying on her mother or other children in the area to keep her company, due to her father often too busy with his work as a salt merchant. When she reached the age of four years old, as usual with any child, she began to grow more independent and testing of the rules, often sneaking out of the home late, or sneaking two many lemon cakes at meals. It was from this young age her often rebellious stubborn nature began to develop. As she reached eight years old, her father became more severe with discipline, and it was often Lucena would get a smack for her misbehaviour. Of course, this wouldn't stop her from sneaking off for a ride with her friend or swiping a dagger from her parents room because she thought it looked pretty. Other than that, she spent a majority of her time with her mother's lessons on reading, writing, singing, dancing and sewing, general etiquette and being a housewife; Most of which Lucena would come to find terribly monotonous. Despite that, she put up with the tedious life of sitting at home and recounting books and backstitches, and spending her free time riding and reading novels. She had reached eighteen when she finally got sick of her life where every day seemed no different to the last, and asked her parents permission to go out and travel the rest of the world, meet different people from all walks of life, to which they refused many times. She insisted on leaving until her parents grew sick of her asking and deciding to let her go on. The very same night, she packed up enough dresses, food and water to last her until she next found civilisation, as well as some coin, a dagger, a horse, a golden compass, and set on her way at midday of the next day. Since then she's spent her time on the road, with ambitions of wealthy young men to medal with and the sights of cities unseen.
