Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Ambrose tilts his head in curiosity, wondering what this old woman meant by 'expecting' him. He definitely didn't know her, and she could be talking nonsense, but he decided he'll play along. He smiles wide and takes a seat with a flourish, and props his head on his hand. "Well, madam, I've traveled far and wide to get to this little hamlet and I must say the journey was not worth it at all!" He chuckles a little, and then carries on without elaborating. He isn't going to tell her his whole life story without gaining something in return. To be fair, the story of a lost boy abandoned by his parents who grew up to be a lost man with no real place in the world is not at all a worthwhile tale, but it was all he really had. "But that isn't to say I'm not glad to finally meet you of course." In truth he has no idea who this old woman was but he figures it might pay to seem in the know if she really does know him.
