Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Example:
"Where should I begin?" Sitting on the cushion, Carolus looks around once more at the tent. "I never knew my father" He began. "I was born in the northern territory and once my mother deemed me fit enough, I went in search of my father." Thinking of his mother, a tear comes to his eye. "After three years searching for my father, I decided to return to my mother in the north, but when I got back, all that was left was a pile of ashes where my old home once stood" Carolus pauses for a moment, clearing his throat and wiping his eyes. "Now I am in search of whoever it is that caused my mother pain, whoever destroyed my home, I have vowed to find them." Carolus looks up at the old hag. "So far, my search has brought me here, but this 'town' if you could call it that, doesn't look very promising. Do you know where I could find lodging for the night?"
