    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Metagaming is using OOC knowledge while IC. For example, the player may know The Goose has the ability to stun with its honk, but unless the character has read about it, learned about it, or experienced it they will not know.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Powergaming is playing your character as more powerful than they are or giving action/reaction/response to somebody else's character. For example, if the player emotes successfully they chase The Goose away, it's powergaming. Instead, the player must emote attempting to chase The Goose away - and it is up to whoever players The Goose to determine what happens next.

Belladonna Proudfoot was doing her best to not look like an overwhelmed halfling when she arrived, but her mask did slip a bit as the Bigg'un approached her - for a moment, her eyes were a bit wide. Then she pulled herself back together and gave the man a grin. "A grand aspira'ion is wha' I call it! Journeyed away from me home ter see where the bes' place to brew is! Us Proudfoots do be th' type ter aim high." She looked him over and let out a whistle. "Ya be well-groomed, Bigg'un. Where's the par'y?"

Note: Reedsborough was last inhabited centuries ago and is destroyed, but we're not that nitpicky on new player apps. I recommend in-game saying you're from Bloomerville (which would've existed around when your character was born).
