    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Powergaming is when you control someone else's character and force them to do something that they may not want.

Rulf Gorvenal grew up poor, but always had dreams of being something more. He had his eye set on riding horses and fighting with blades ever since he was a young lad. His mother died a few years after his birth, and his father tried to take care of him as he could. They lived on the outskirts of Carolustadt, begging for whatever they could get. The burn that he suffered was caused by a time when he had misplaced his foot and ended up getting his arm into a pot of steaming hot stew, but had no time to take care of the burn as they had to run from the shop owner. This caused the burn to be much more pronounced. His father taught him many things such as how to steal, pickpocket, and swindle. Yet, he never got enveloped into this lifestyle because he knew if he truly wanted to become a knight he could not continue his father’s petty ways. One day, he saw a messenger bird fly overhead and thought that that was the time for him to leave and discover the world just like that bird. At the mere age of 15, he left his father and trained with mysterious figures on how to fight and care for himself.

Physical Description: Rulf Gorvenal has a scar across the left eye, burns on the right arm, is always caked with dirt, has blue eyes and brown hair.
Roleplay Scenario: The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”
