Gerald was one of Hekkaes little brother, born in the same village, he did not have any problem with his father, being so little, his father wouldn't beat him as he did to Hekkaes and Balin. After Hekkaes killed their father, Gerald was told lies that his father died to natural causes, so he believed Hekkaes. They went in Kaz'Ulrah for a better living and as Hekkaes was talking with Balin in the tavern, he asked Balin if he should tell Gerald the truth about their father. Gerald stood there and listened to the whole conversation. Once he heard the truth about his father, he ran away from Kaz'Ulrah. Gerald went into the wild, started living with the animals, living from a day to another with little. He then got sick from a cut. His hair had become white due to the disease he got in the woods. He returned to Kaz'Ulrah to be cured, but he didn't. He was ready to leave Kaz'Ulrah, but was stopped by Hekkaes, asking for his forgiveness. After a long discussion in the tavern, Gerald realised that Hekkaes killed his father to protected them, so he stood in Kaz'Ulrah with his brothers.
