Mikael grew up in Sutica to a family of little known merchants, his early childhood was mostly uneventful, with him receiving a basic education that was afforded to him by his father's coin. Mikael rarely saw his father as he was always in and out of the household running trade caravans throughout Almaris. His mother loved him dearly and taught him what she could. When Mikael turned 17, his mother became ill with fever and was bed-ridden for months. A few weeks after this a courier rapped upon the door of his dwelling and delivered the news, his father had been killed in bandit raid outside Krugmar somewhere. He took this as best as anyone could, relaying the news to his mother shortly after. His mother died a few months after the fever started. With his mother dead and no father to speak of, Mikael had to foreclose the house and take what little he had left with him. He began to wander around Sutica, looking for odd jobs and something to take his mind away from the hardship of losing his parents. It was at this point that he met a rather notable merchant. This merchant took a liking to Mikael and taught him the ins and outs of mercantile and trading. He apprenticed under her for 2 years before heading out on his own. Before the day of his departure from Sutica, he rested at a tavern on the outskirts and met a rather beautiful woman named Aveline. They adventured together for about a year and decided to marry. He is still with her to this day.
"Greetings!" Mikael would say. "Just point me in the direction of the nearest tavern and we can discuss all of this over some ale, did I get your name?"
