Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Ava grimaces as she enters the hut, pinching her nose and looking back over her shoulder. Hesitantly she heeds the hag's offer and sits on the cushion. Fighting her want to turn tail and run from the stench, Ava releases her nose and opens her mouth to speak.
"I've always dreamed of more. My thoughts wandering to the far reaches of the world I never imagined being allowed to see." she begins, her eyes softening as she looks down at a locket around her neck, "I didn't want to run away but they left me no choice. If I had to stare at those same four walls for another day... I'd have suffocated."
Ava finishes, her eyes shooting up from the locket to the hag. Her eyes now focused as she studies the face of the woman across from her.
