Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Example:
Rowan glances over at the seat before him. he gives a hesitant glance at the old hag as he sits. "I do not know how you can expect someone who is unknown in these lands.", rowan says with a confused yet heavy look on his face. The old hag stays silent, as if it were a question not worth answering. "Yet my story should be told", rowan continues as he leans back into the seat. he grits his teeth and stares as the old floorboard beneath him as he thinks back. Many things have happened over the last years he doesn't know where to start. He gives a deep sigh as he begins, "I have wandered here for afar, I seek refuge from my homeland in the north." His face gets more tense as he continues," it has been at war for years and my land is in ruins. I have made it here on but bread and river water. He pauses, as if not wanting to continue and his eyes begin to tear up but he wipes it away before it could be noticed. he had to stay strong. "I had a brother, who was to meet me here but I," he pauses again and sighs, "I'm yet to know where here is. if he has survived the journey I must find him..."
