Cryinica

You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

She walked over to the cushion, her golden anklets and bangles ringing out with every slight movement. She sits down cross-legged and adjusts her position to be comfortable. "Well," She'd start, "I hail from Krugmar, although some of my people, including myself and my family, were enslaved and forced to serve there." She looked down out of shame before continuing. "I work, well, used to work as a entertainer. I'd dance, sing, and more often than not perform... other services to the elite." She then lowered her voice out of caution, not wanting to get caught or overheard. "I was given luxuries few other slaves were fortunate enough to have, but even then we were never treated well. One day, I had finished performing my services for my master, but right as I was about to leave he beckoned me over, saying I had one last task to perform. Everything after that moment is a blur to me now, but I woke up the next morning in my bed next to my mother. "Run," she grimly told me, "Run or you will never live to see another day." She had already packed all my clothes and belongings for me as well as supplies, so I had disappeared within the hour without as much as a goodbye." She sighed. "I do hope I will see her again someday..."

*Note that in an actual roleplay scenario with this character, there would probably be a lot more skepticism and asking questions before she shares anything about herself since she doesn't want anyone to know she's a runaway. She is very scared right now and just doesn't want to get caught.

Also, since I couldn't include details about her clothing before, here are some:

-Lots of dancing/entertaining clothes in the typical style from her culture (imagine a typical dancer in Indian/South Asian cultures, that's about what it is)

-A long, dark cloak with a hood

-Various pieces of gold jewelry (mostly given to her by her slavemaster to wear or passed down to her by family); including but not limited to jhumkhas, bangles, bindis (both the kind you stick on and the metal ones you hang from your head), necklaces, anklets

-Plain white saris (what she usually wears) with gold detailing

Note that in her culture, it is typical to be barefoot. As such, it is what she typically does and rarely wears shoes unless making a long journey.
