The early years of Maars life was full of being taught the ways of his people and adopting the traits his father wish to imbue into him. Only being verbally taught the ways of a warrior and worships towards the God of War. Maars only being a young boy has only aspirations set by his father and only wishes to make his father proud. His father being one of the better warriors of his time cant help but being harsh and what some would call brutal on Maars. Failure meant punishment, success meant harsher challenges.
As Maars got older he grew accustomed to his fathers harshness, and it began to show as he expressed his anger with those around him. Taunting and urging on those around him which caused constant beat down to which only led to further punishments from his father due to his failure. There was a certain point where after all the beatings and punishments, something happened and. . .Defeat became a distant memory and victory came back to back and continuously more often.
As the young man grew to adulthood he brought a certain renown to himself. He wasn't a bad guy, but he wasn't good either. He was easily brought to an aggressive stage and quickly resorted to violence to solve problems. He usually had good intentions however he was only taught a few ways of handling obstacles. His quick temper and new found arrogance quickly caused arguments and small brawls to which no victor was found. At one point Maars aggression and anger grew so great that he challenged his father to a duel. It was during the furious duel that made Maars realize that if he were to win he would only prove his father correct. During the duel he saw a critical vulnerability to which he didn't take. This however putting him in an offset position allowed his father to capitalize and bring a long slash across Maars' back, rendering him incapable. The first drop of defeat to be tasted since he was a child. It was also the most painful. Being nursed to a near full recovery, he left without a word.
