Arthur Hamzus was born to a humble hard working family that lived out in the golden country side of Helena. Arthur's world consisted of one thing, his father's stud farm, the vast open property of land had been handed down for generations in Arthur's family. Arthur always seemed to get lost in the pristine wilderness in his youth. He found himself always being rescued by his sisters. Arthur's father ,Henry, was a very proud man, proud of his land, his business and undoubtedly his children. Mainly his only son Arthur. His father was a fairly wealthy man who would breed prime horses for the Army of Helena and other elites. Arthur was always a quiet boy and many times was he beat by the other children who lived on his father's land. They would tease and make fun of him since he read all day by a lake on the property. Arthur was too weak to defend himself and too timid to tell anyone. He'd often lie to his worried mother when he came home hurt. The eldest of the children who bothered Arthur was named Michael. Now Michael was the son of a worker on Henry's stud farm. Michael always went too far with Arthur almost always having to be held back by the other children. Over the years Arthur had had enough with the way Michael was treating him. So when Michael showed up to the lake where Arthur reads he started to tease him then it progressed into a physical altercation. Arthur was 13 and Michael was 15 it was an unfair fight from the start however Arthur told Michael how he felt. It was a mistake to say anything because that made Michael even more enraged at Arthur. After the fight had been broken up by men who had heard the screams of the boys. Two days later Michael wanted to speak with Arthur. Michael told him that the only reason he hates him so much and wants to bother him was that he was jealous of Arthur. Michael's dream was to learn how to ride horses and become literate. Every time he saw Arthur reading it made him furious that they both lived on the same land yet they were worlds apart. Then Arthur had also admitted that he was jealous of how strong and brave Michael was. So the two formed a pact, Arthur would teach Michael how to ride, write, read, and do arithmetic in return Michael would teach Arthur how to fight and fend for himself. A blossoming friendship had sprung between the two.

Five years have passed and the two boys are now men. Their pact and friendship have passed the test of time, and they are now the best of companions. The two men were now getting ready to leave home and make a name for themselves. Arthur's father became a sickly man and can't do his job as well as in the past.Arthur and Michael work hard long hours giving less time for them to spend with each other. Michael had even found love with one of Arthur's sisters. The two men now gradually begin to shift from one another. Then the start of the fatal chain of events occurs when Michael and Arthur's sister announce they will be moving away from the stud farm to make a new life for themselves in the imperial capital. This saddens Arthur and he wants to see if him and Michael could do anything together before he leaves. They hatch a plan. They've been wanting to do this since they were just boys, and what better time to do something reckless when your best friend is about to part from you for years or maybe a lifetime. Arthur's father caught a wild horse four years ago this horse is a majestic white color with a long wispy mane this horse is Henry's prized possession and hopes to sell him for a grand sum when the time is right. However the horse is wild in nature and no rider has ever been able to tame the horse. The two men wanted to ride this horse and see if they could tame it. They strike at sunset when the workers go to their homes and their shift begins. They quietly sneak the horse out of the stable and take him to an open field surrounded by dense virgin forest. Arthur gets on and surprisingly the horse doesn't buck and try to get rid of Arthur. He rides him around for half an hour and lets Michael try. To their astonishment the horse is not violent towards them. Michael gets off and lets Arthur ride some more. Arthur now with a newfound cockiness and some could say arrogance whips the horse to make it go faster. This would be the biggest mistake he's ever made. The wild stallion goes crazy bucking and swerving. Arthur immediately tries to calm it down but to no avail. Then the horse dashes at full speed into the thick forest stumbling on the uneven ground cutting itself on the branches. Only a few moments later the stallion trips and falls breaking two legs. Arthur is thrown off and helped up by Michael who was chasing the horse. The two men look at each other and know what they have just done.

Arthur couldn't face his father and decided to run away. He told Michael to protect his sister and since Arthur was Henry's only son he wished for the land to go to Michael. Arthur now on the run trying to forget about his old life to no avail. With the disappointment of his father and abandonment of his best friend behind him the past always claws its way out in Arthur's mind. Arthur now tries to get as far away as possible from his old life.
