Bartagus Ironmonger, Seventh of that name, son of Barthron, son of Boaroth. Once his people, the dwarves of asgarvaria, were a mighty folk, but a thousand years of war left them weakened, so that when their enemies struck - they were slaughtered. His own grandfather, Boaroth: King of a thousand leagues, died upon his throne, slain by foul dark beasts. So they fled, and came to be a once proud people now scattered across all the realms. But Bartagus remembers, and maybe oneday will rebuild what his grandfather once had. For now though, he lives simply - in a large house with many parts, near a river with a mill, a modest living for any dwarf, he supplements these things with his mighty work as a smith, there is not thing his forge cannot create, and he sell these thingd for great profit in his shop. He is gruff in manner, but once you befriend him he is quite kind and funny, ready to lend a hand or crack a joke if you but ask.

They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”
