A ruddy dwarf looked up from a small leather-bound book hardly larger than his hand, a stick of charcoal pinched between two fingers of the other. He stopped to look around for a few moments, as if to look for the individual that the gentleman had been speaking to, before turning back and clearing his throat. “Oh I’m ah... jus’ passing through.”
He fell silent for a few steady beats before blinking and abruptly thrusting a stumpy hand out towards the man. “Ah where are my manners? My name is Torlumir, migh’ I ask where I could find a place to rest my head for the night? I don’ do too well on ships and could go for something sweet to settle the nerves.” He nodded, screwing up his face a bit and passing a weary glance to the vessel behind him.

How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: The use of external, real life, or otherwise recently discovered knowledge that a character would not have access to in order to influence their decision making outside their decided norm.
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Creating a character that is unusually capable for their level of experience, to the point of being among the best in a given task with little reason behind it. IE: A blacksmith who can fight toe to toe with an experienced knight, a halfling teenager that can wrestle the local strongdwarf, or the old wizened man capable of keeping pace with the fleetest of elvish rangers.
