Zave grew up on a farm with his parents, he had no siblings. Zave's father never approved of his son because of his small and weak body as a child and never let him work in the fields with him. Although against his fathers wishes, Zave watched his father work every day and picked up on skills whilst doing so. At the age of nine, his mother died from a plague that spread through his town. Shortly after his mothers passing his father abandoned him during a trip to the city. All alone after leaving the unfamiliar setting of the city, for the next decade Zave learned to survive by himself wandering the countryside.
