    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: taking away a players choice of what happens to their char. as another player

Aragorn's Mother died from childbirth leaving it just him and his father. they lived in a cabin in the forest for the next few years his father teaching him how to live off of the land and how to survive, he had gotten pretty . mostly staying to themselves. one day when he was 13 he spotted a six year old girl running from some wolves, his father rushed out of the cabin with sword in hand and his bow over his shoulder. he handed Aragorn the bow and quiver and said "keep the girl safe at all costs" he then charged toward the pursuers. Aragorn shot one of them in the chest, killing it, his father was corralling the girl toward the cabin, a hand on her shoulder, the other one warding off the wolf. suddenly Aragorn heard a growl to his right, he turned to see a wolf about to lunge, it bounded toward him, he dove out of the way at the last second as it flew past him, screaming as he did. s his father heard him scream he turned to look, the wolf lunged as he did biting him in the arm, his dad hit the wolf with the butt of his sword. another one came behind him and went for the girl, he intercepted the wolf with his other arm, screaming as the pain hit him, he fell to his knees as the wolves all converged on him, Aragorn watching in horror shook it off and fired off arrow after arrow till they were all dead, along with his father... he took his fathers sword and bow and buried him, him and Caitlin (The girl) grew to a point where they thought of each other as brother and sister. Aragorn has just started his journey through the world, training to destroy threats to civilizations before they know that there is a problem

Physical Description: Green eyes, long black hair, light stubble
Roleplay Scenario: The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”
