Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"Not much to tell that you don't already know from looking at me." Thorn shrugs, motioning towards her nearly worn out clothes caked in the dust and mud of long days on the road. "I've suffered a few spots of personal tragedy, nothing worth getting into, and am hoping to continue my learning as an apothecary and alchemist. I think if I were able to ply the trade, I'd manage to finally make a comfortable living for myself, even if I do need to go on the road again to find a new home for the umpteenth time. Any town could use a woman who knows her way 'round a poultice, even better if she can find a way to improve on them as she learns. That's why I wanted to learn from the best.
