In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: In a Role-play setting Metagaming is an act of using real life knowledge of a number of things such as, Events, Locations, character information, secrets, an the like. But having your own character aware of such things when they otherwise wouldn't know of
In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Power-gaming is an act within Role-play where a player attempts to achieve a goal, be it a great feat, a high position within military/government etc. Or a more common example inflicting harm upon another player in a way that is only fair to one side. Crow was raised as a middle-class kid within his home of Volis. During his childhood he was clueless as to the lifestyle his parents had been living until he had been exposed to the truth, when he was indoctrinated into the Devil Advocates. Within the guild, he was taught his craft, using sly tricks to scam and swindle people out of coin. However while his mother and him both knew that what they were doing was shallow, and wrong. His father seemed not to care for such things, an grew more distant with his family as the days passed along.
Crow, along the time of those days, has had his short share of fun with a few of the members in the guild, one of which was his younger, an crazier brother, Rezlin. As his skill in his craft grew over the years Crow had met a fellow assassin by the name of Telris, Who did his work efficiently & discretely before slipping back into the shadows. One of Crows more 'Trusted' Friends had to be a fellow member, A merchant named Malachi. Whom just by speaking could instill great paranoia in ones mind. Normally referred to as 'Scales' by other members of the Advocates due to his skill in talking himself out of most situations & conflict. But as the days grew old and time ticked away, Crow had left this life behind in hopes of continuing his work elsewhere only this time on his terms. Leaving Volis he'd set out to see what awaited him in the far future, be for it good or bad.

(Character description)

A man’s face slightly veiled by the hood of his cloak, but you can tell he’s glancing at you. He sports a well-worn vest with an off-white breast and red body and sleeves; which is covered by the cloak, a metal shoulder guard on his left, and leather straps, one of which holsters what you can tell is a bow and loaded quiver. He has an even older cloth belt tied around his waist, masking the line between his vest and dark gray pants. Much like the pants his black boots look suited for outside in any weather. If the get up weren’t any indication the man likely doesn’t stay indoors for his profession all the time the sword in his left hand, which easily looks like it could run you through in a heartbeat, makes it all too clear that he isn’t pushing papers all day.

Crow is an individual that’s far from being as edgy as his looks imply. In truth, he’s quite skilled at masking his emotions under the guise of being nonchalant, a holdover from a ruthless past spent doling out death to both targets and innocent bystanders. He likes to think he’s above making much of what other people say but he’s found his nickname, originally a testament to how his presence typically foretold the death of his targets, something not to take pride in. Not that he would admit it, but his tenacity in retaining such a reputation stemmed from some enjoyment but mostly the fact that he was forced into it at a young age. Now that he’s left to deal with the fallout of having murdered in cold-blood, he finds little time to mope around and feel violated. Crow is a quiet, hardened individual who’s determined to find any way he can to survive, along with those he holds close, like his mother and a few friends in the guild. The only qualms he has with anyone for now is his father, whose reign he’d like to see stopped more than anything else.

Roleplay Scenario: The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”

((How does your character respond? Please ensure your response is at least six sentences long, and uses at least two actions.))
