Amir grew up in Nevaehlen with their two parents and two siblings. They were raised as the middle child - Civir, their older brother, was 9 years older. Their younger sibling, Aylir, was 6 years younger. Since their ages were so far apart, Amir never really fit in with them until they were 17. At that time, the three were nearly inseparable. That was the peak of their relationship - though it fell apart only a few years later. They started arguing much more often, especially with Civir moving out. By the time Amir left at the age of 21, the three of them hardly spoke. They were, of course, sad to see them leave, however it wasn't nearly as emotional as it would've been.
Amir was raised in a fairly typical house surrounded by trees. They were an energetic child, always running off into the woods. They would climb trees, build small fires, or even just take a nap in a tree. They had always loved nature and they certainly showed it. They would also always look out for insects or tiny flowers - anything that needed protected, Amir would be looking out for. Amir just loved being outside.
Amir had always wanted to leave. Not because they hated life with their family or anything, but they had always dreamed of getting away. They loved exploring, and nature of course, and so leaving always seemed like the clear option. Amir's family was fairly upset, though they did agree that it'd be for the best. Their always supportive parents wished them safe travels. Amir occasionally regrets leaving, but they're ultimately happy.
The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”
Amir sat down at her request, not pausing to think about any consequences. They thought about the question for just a moment before answering. "I came from Nevaehlen! I don't- I'm not really sure? I'm just passing by this town if I'm being honest. I mean, I want to connect with nature? So if that counts then that's what I hope to make of myself." Amir sat in silence with the women before they spoke up again. "So wait, if you know who I am, then who are you? Because I really don't think I've seen you before. Unless I have - if so, I'm really sorry. I swear I'm just bad with faces!"
