Zenoea was born as a mute and only child to the Annin family, a relatively low class family among the dark elves. Zenoea's Father, Eldeon, was a soldier for the Army and had fought against the drakes from the great war, before ultimately fleeing and running with an inch of his life left. The war and fighting off the drakes had left him with without an arm. Eldeon eventually settled down after being healed and married to his wife, Eleanor.
Zenoea was incredibly sheltered in her childhood, Her father not allowing her to leave their home without an escort of sorts, afraid something would happen to her since she could physically not speak or scream if she was in danger.. Zenoea was also not allowed and was restricted from doing many things like acting too childish for her age. Her Mother tried to help but there was not much she could do. Zenoea felt as though anything she did would be the wrong thing to do. And there have been many times where she felt the urge to talk back against her parents and run, and find freedom for herself. But she couldn't, she loved her father too much to "speak out against him" . Her only solace was baking. It was a basic chore she would do daily but it made her feel in control. She can choose what to add or how to roll the dough, She can experiment and play around with baking.
And Eventually, Zenoea became incredibly good at it, it was her hobby and talent, and as much fun as it is to create sweet treats and bread, it wasn't enough, She need more in her life than just this.
When She turned 16 Zenoea finally asked the question, of being able to leave on her own, and to choose her own life. Her stern Father however was reluctant, and tried to come up with excuses as to why she can't leave, eventually the argument spiraled, and both sides became angry. Zenoea Explained how sick she was of this, of the lifestyle she had been living, How she wanted to travel and visit places, how she wanted to truly experience life for what it truly was. And After what seemed like hours, Eldeon relented, And granted the permission, Only If Zenoea was to study hard and learn all types of sign language and train herself so that she can protect herself. And for two long and straight years, Zenoea Studied and read as many academic books as she can lay her hands on, and trained with her father, and while she was not perfect with a sword, she knew enough to defend herself if only for a little bit. Her mother had done her best to support her, supplying her daughter with food and a whole lot of good luck.
Now being at 54 years of age, Zenoea Begins traveling the lands, wanting to meet new people and hopefully find friends that can help her, and that she can help as well. And being mute will not stop her.
Zenoea Stepped off the boat and onto the dock, leaving her home and finally doing things her own way. The boat ride itself was fun however, she was too scared and shy to talk to any of the other passengers, She had no experience with talking to stranger's, she knows she should be careful with those who have harmful intentions, but light banter just seemed too much for now. She'll learn to get used to it, but for now she must look onwards. She was shocked to see such huge walls before her, The were much more grand than what she over heard from the others on the ship it seemed rather well guarded as she approached closer. Beyond its gate she can see colorful roofs of stalls and shops, each one selling something more different than the last, She could not wait to experience it all!
However a small set back seemed to have made face, a man had approached her. Despite His fancy looking clothing and his kind smile, Zenoea still found herself frozen momentarily, she was not expecting this. But shook away the fear and attentively raised her hands to form weird symbols or actions, She was speaking in Common Sign language.
"I'm sorry, I was expecting someone to speak to me, Thank you? I'm just here to..start my own life, To Travel, and this city looked like a good place to start." she signed, a small gentle smile making way through her lips. She was being honest, this city was one her father had mentioned, So it was best to visit here first. She excused herself from the kind gentleman, who surprisingly understood her and began onward. She mustn't dawdle, She wanted to see and try everything this place had to offer.
