Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Example: Hesitating- "Expecting me? I have been wandering through the woods searching.. for a place that doesnt feel like danger.. a safe place to call home..I do not know what I am seeking but I will know it when I see it. Somewhere I can start again.. I am surprised to hear you were expecting ME? Maybe the roots were whispering my name or did the fire flies tell you I was on my way?" The rot and dimmness of this swamp sturs up memories.."I was used to a world of light and magic. Fire flies twinkling at night and trees swaying in the days rays of light. But the sky became dark the soil damp and soon all of my people left their home." Swallows tears- "I hope to find those I have lost on my journey or create a new home so that they can find their way back. My people used to look up to me to guide them and I fear that we may have lost.. I carry a light with me that I hope can shine again.. a shine so bright that my people will be drawn to it.. and come home."
