    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming is, like Powergaming, making your character overpowered. Metagaming is when your character uses knowledge they shouldn't actually know during a roleplay.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Powergaming is essentially roleplaying unnaturally. It's like it says in the name, your making your character too overpowered for the situation they are stuck in.

From what seldom memories Eden had of her early life, she can remember that her younger years were filled with love and warmth. Until she was 15. At this age, like most Snow Elves, she was sent off for military training. She lived far off in a remote village, the exact location unbeknownst to her, so her parents had her shipped off by boat. By the twisted hand of fate, the ship was struck by lightning and she washed up on shore. No matter how much she tries to repress it, the memories always come back to her like a nightmare. The cold waves of the ocean lapping at her bare legs, the sand clogging her lungs, the yelling of the people of Curon when they found her nearly lifeless body in a heap on the shore. She was sent to an orphanage. Many times she tried to escape, to get back to her real family, but each time she was brought back and punished ruthlessly. She never understood why they even wanted to keep her so badly. Nobody wanted her, and if they did, she tried her damned best to scare them off. After many years, a wealthy Heartlander family came in to adopt Eden. No matter how hard she fought them, they would not take no for an answer. She was treated like a pampered pooch. It was obvious they didn’t see her as a daughter, but rather they saw her as an exotic pet, and interesting conversation starter for their guests. Eventually, Eden got used to this lifestyle. The anger inside her went dormant, and she learned to keep her mouth shut. Decades past and her, ‘parents,’ grew old. They died. She wasn’t invited to the funeral. The heirs to the fortune her parents left came home and kicked Eden out from her only home. In mere days, Eden lost everything she knew. Being a young and vulnerable elf, life moving on for Eden was going to prove difficult.

Roleplay Scenario: The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”

For the following reasons,

  • Your metagaming and powergaming definitions are not quite right, please correct them and make sure you use examples to show you understand the concept.
  • Your biography includes some facts which are not true, snow elves don’t need to go to military training (Maybe change it to you were gonna visit your aunt or something)
  • Sharp teeth?
  • Your interesting facts mention you dabbled in magic this is not allowed as this is something learned through RP
