    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: When the person controlling the character makes them act out of character simply because they have learnt something new and wish to add it to that character, using their knowledge and giving this to their character.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: It is making your character over powered, and giving it an unfair advantage compared to other characters by controlling what they react with/how they are affected by your characters actions.

Her parents were simple high elves, both born of pure blood, though she does not interact with them past the date of her leaving her initial home with them once she hit the age of 17. Despite not having any siblings, she find comfort and sibling-like relationships with animals sometimes, though would rather be alone anyways. During her youthful years she stayed in a varied friend group of high elves though never connected with any to seek higher friendship, she found a friend in her mind and was okay with that. Location of birth: Haelun'or, where she has had an education of plants and flora, which she wishes to further develop her knowledge on whilst also seeking guidance on magic. Living a simple life, she does not encounter many dangers or large events, but has explored vast areas of geology to examine flora that she had learnt about previously, occasionally witnessing an orc from afar. Since leaving her parents, she has stayed in Haelun'or to develop her own skills and attempt to be social, though often failing.

Roleplay Scenario:

'Change,' She replied ,'I came seeking change from my simple life back home, aspiring to educate myself higher and experience an adventure whilst im at it!' His smile was met with hers, radiating the same warmth.

Your application has been put on pending, as there are changes needing to be made before you may be accepted, as follows:

 

  • Please fix all grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors in your application to the best of your ability. I recommend using a free grammar checker such as Grammarly. 
  • Your Roleplay Scenario Response is too short! It must be at least 4 sentences long and include at least one piece of dialogue in quotes, and one action!
  • Your Character Fear is a bit lacking! Please try to make sure your character's fear connects with their biography!
  • Your Character Fear must be a fear that is unique to them-- for example, everyone is afraid of death.
  •  
  • Your Character Goal must include what drives your character towards that goal instead of just the goal itself! Also, side note that it's not allowed to know any alchemy or magic without having found a teacher in game! Elaine can have that goal toward finding a teacher once you start playing her, though!
  • A side note, Elaine is a human name-- perhaps select something more Elven? You can find them on fantasy name generators.
