Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

'Thank you.. I'm afraid I can't give you a great reason apart from looking for better trades. You see, growing agriculture up north is a great difficulty.. I have come here to look for something greater, something that my people can thrive on.' Aethelwulf reaches into his long coat, showing the lady a relic, ingraved with Runes. 'This is one of the things that give us hope in this cursed world.' Aethelwulf lowers himself onto the cushion, the fabric of his long coat rustling with the movement. His fingers still clutch the relic tightly, his gaze shifts from the penetrating stare of the old hag. 'Hope.. thats what we all cling to, isn't it?' Aethelwulf runs his fingers across the edges of the runestone. 'It was given to me by an elder from my village', he mutters 'he said it would guide us to something better.. In the end, I am just here to follow the hope he has given me.'
