Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
Tanerius sits, although cautiously. "I am the remnants of my unit. We were sent on a suicide mission after I was promoted to Captain of my company. After I saw the last of my men fall, I deserted the Empire. I am here because it is where the road led me; There is nothing for me in the road behind." He is nervous to be here, in such an open, unguarded area. As he speaks though, he is emboldened by the memory of his trauma, and the weight of the creeds he cultivated from it is a comfort in this strange place.
