Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
I sit down on the cushion " Well you see I came from a land called Venir More specifically I come from a kingdom in this land called the Great Dwarven Kingdom even though none of us there were actually dwarves, But our kingdom was dug into a mountain so that's what we call ourselves we had allied with another Kingdom who called themselves Odin's outpost that was until my king accidentally attacked another one of Odin's outposts allies so naturally they sided with the victim and declared war on us So my king sold his second in command over to them to try and stop the war and when that didn't work he just left leaving me the 3rd in command as king. I talked to Odin's outpost and they agreed that because were under new leadership They would consider calling off the war if I agreed to join the Council of Kings which sounds pretty good on paper but that meant that my kingdom would have to pay more and follow new laws that they didn't have to follow before so I disagreed but right after the meeting where I turned them down it turns out they had hired a scribe from a different kingdom and the scribe sided with me So did the king of that kingdom and the Kings of three other kingdoms so we went to war the Great Rebellion against the Council of Kings. It was a long battle and eventually it was down to two of us and two of them but the two of them were much wiser and agreed to call off the war but During the war my kingdom was destroyed, most of my citizens dead So I left to start a new adventure and I suppose that's why I'm here now"
