Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Example: Tharion Elensar steps carefully across the damp, uneven ground, the scent of rotted wood and wet moss clinging to his cloak. His grey-green eyes take in the shacks and cabins, noting every shadow, every movement. Ducking into the tattered tent, he allows the flickering candlelight to wash over him, casting long shadows across the worn fabric.
At the back of the tent, the old hag lifts her head, her gaze locking onto his. “What brings you to this dingy town?” she begins, then pauses, eyes narrowing as if seeing through him. “Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit. Tell me your story.”
Tharion lowers himself onto the cushion, keeping his posture straight yet relaxed, hands resting lightly on his knees. “I have walked many forests and shadowed paths,” he begins, his voice calm, carrying the subtle cadence of elven speech. “I seek knowledge, and perhaps guidance. The darkness grows in these lands, and I have felt its stirrings even before I arrived. My path… has always been to watch, to protect, and to learn. I came here because something tells me this place holds answers I cannot find alone.”
He inclines his head slightly, eyes meeting the hag’s with a mixture of respect and quiet determination. “I will tell you more, if you are willing to listen.”
"Oh, I just, uh…" you stutter, tensing up. You eye the crone, then back outside the tent. For a moment, the air thickens with anticipation, until…
