    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Avoid powergaming by only controlling what your character does, not forcing outcomes on others, and giving them a chance to react. Let your character have realistic limits, make mistakes, and face consequences instead of always winning or acting unrealistically strong. Roleplay is about telling a story together, so focus on being fair, believable, and leaving room for others to participate.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming makes roleplay unfair because it means using information your character wouldn’t actually know, just because you as the player know it. This ruins immersion and makes situations feel unnatural, since characters react to things they never learned in the story. It also takes away fair chances for others, because it skips the natural flow of discovering things through roleplay.

Roleplay Scenario:

Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"I..." I hesitated for a moment "Where to start... i'm the oldest of three siblings, i was raised by my mother alone in a lake house not so far from forests. Since i was a kid i have been a trouble maker and a very curious elf." I fidgeted with my fingers. "I left my family not so long ago seeking adventures and I need a place to stay, settle down after two years of a terribly long journey. I'm also looking forward to learn combat since i never had anyone to teach me."

  • It looks good so far! I am mostly being pedantic just to uphold standards on the server: Please look at your grammar, in addition, speak in third person outside of dialogue- that is to say, narrate what your character does.

EX. "Hold it right there! I'm holding you in the name of the Crown!" The knight said with anger as he'd draw his sword.

When in dialogue speak in first person, when outside narrate it in third person.
