He was born to Edrin and Mara Voss and grew up with his younger sister, Lysa, in a small Highlander settlement on the outskirts of the Carpathian Mountains. Raised in a harsh environment of long winters and dense forests, he learned survival skills early. When he was sixteen, a raid destroyed his home and separated him from his family. With nothing left and no way back, he left the mountains to survive on his own.
The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”

He hesitates at the doorway before stepping fully inside, brushing dust from his sleeve as his eyes adjust to the candlelight. At her words, he studies her carefully, then slowly lowers himself into the chair she offered, resting his forearms on his knees. “I come from the mountains,” he says quietly, his voice steady but guarded, “far from places like this… though not so different in the end.” He glances around the shack briefly before returning his gaze to her. “As for what I hope to make of myself… I’m still figuring that out.” He exhales softly, jaw tightening for a moment. “For now, I survive. And I look for something I lost a long time ago.”
