Robert Young was born to a family of farmers in the southern parts of the Kingdom of Norland of which he grew up in his entire life. His father hailing from the Imperial Crownlands and his mother hailing from Norland, Robert took traits of both of his parents. Working in the fields early in the morning and late into the night along with his father, William Young Jr, as soon as he was old enough. This in turn gave him rough hands and tanned white skin even with living in a colder part of the world, but Robert had bigger versions of a new future for himself even though he cared for the family farm, he didn't want to stay there the rest of his life. Robert wished to go out into the further human realms and work under and maybe even possibly join a noble house to join something greater than himself and work towards a greater goal. So at the young age of 23 he left his home with the blessing of his parents and set out to make a path in a world he's never seen. Even though Robert grew up in a rural part of the world, it doesn't mean he's no fool as his mother gave him the best education money couldn't buy. He would not be easily fooled with scams and city folk tricks.
The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”
"Uhhh, oh, ah, I'm just, just coming through town" The traveler quickly spills out, tensing up from the surprisement of the question and the awkwardness of this sudden encounter. They eye the hag, then back outside the shack. For a moment they consider leaving, but the unwavering stare of the hag and the mystery surrounding her compels him otherwise. The traveler gives himself some confidence before speaking,
"I hail from the southern edges of the Kingdom of Norland, son of William Young Jr!" The traveler nervously bellows out, not meaning to and immediately feeling sorry for speaking so loudly in such a small room. The hag looks unimpressed and looks at him with an annoyed look. The traveler quickly shuffles over to the chair and sits down.
Once the traveler settles in the chair, the hag once again asks "What do you hope to make of yourself?"
"I hope to one day serve a part of a noble house and dedicate myself to something greater than just me, but to a place, a people, a nation." The hag expresses a look of satisfaction before replying, "A noble path, but that is to be expected from your people."
