Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
"I did it for them! For the People!" Roland screamed. He betrayed the own kingdom he served for, he thinks he did it for the good of the people in the kingdom but that was far from the truth, he did it for his own survival. When the king finds out about this betrayal Roland was given a choice either leave or face execution. Roland's guilt has become his prison "I swear it wasn't my fault I tried to help them" Roland said with tears going down his face. Roland went back hiding in a cloak, masking his shame. He walked past a familiar tavern, where he see's a friend who he used to call a brother. The man saw Roland and his eyes darkened "You, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be on your knees begging for forgiveness" he said to Roland. Roland says to him "I'm not here for forgiveness I'm here for redemption for the crimes I committed" The man dosent accept this and forces him out of the settlement. This is when he finds the swampy town.
