Sammaym

Born in the eerie, chilling forests of the Greyspine Mountains, I tried to make light of my solitude by carving on trees and wood-working from a young age, by crafting little animals. I remember little of my birth-parents and family, but recall their death during the raiding of our village. Previous to the Iron Accord between Haense, Norland and Urguan, which brought great peace into the mountains, there were often bandits littering the roads. I ran away during the raids to seek safety after my family was killed, with hopes to find a new clan, but unfortunately did not succeed. It was a challenging time since I often worried about surviving due to fighting and the cold, but was eventually found and raised by a kind, small clan of cave dwarves. During my time with the cave dwarves I found my place in a family and loved spending time with them by sharing my craft or also learning from them. I began to love using charcoal to continue creating art within the caves, but also learned how to make pick-axes and other weaponry by wood-working for my community. They took to me quickly, gave me a family and even gave me the name “Lavabelly” since I could hold my liquor better than any of them.

Although I am exceedingly grateful for the welcoming hands of the cave dwarves and having found my place in a family, I found myself yearning for the lush forests and refreshing greens of the trees that I had in my youth. In turn, I travelled to the mountains of Urguan as a new, young adult to sell my wood-worked carvings and explore the gorgeous terrain. I am the type of dwarf who is most at home in the woods, but home is not to say that I will settle. I love travelling and finding new environments where I can explore new land and new people. As an experienced artisan, I also love sharing my work with people who I meet, and always try to share love and a kind greeting with anyone I pass. However, I am always upset when leaving a community and anxious about what could happen to the people who I love.
