Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
"Expecting me? I haven't even got back into the city I'm already spotted." Kai said with a witty sarcasm that hid his fear well
"I know you know who I am and what you seek tell me why I should allow you a on your path." said the old hag as her raspy voice reverbed in Kai's mind
Kai thought for a moment. He saw no point in lying, no more schems, no more plans,no wise and cunning words to escape, he was finally here so close and only the truth would get him to the city. "Honestly, I grew up in the best city in the world, the center of trade, magic, and entertainment for the world. I grew up in the slums and all I've ever wanted to do was learn magic and become a merchant on the city." Kai was getting imbolded as his voice rose with passion."When I got the chnace I left to travel the world learn of other clutres and skills and now? I'm ready t come home and I can't do that without you letting me go." "All I know is that the city you can take me to is a city of dreams and fears, of hopes and promises, of everything I have ever wanted to be, no one believed in me-well she believes in me but still, all I need is to come to the ciy, learn magic, open my store and make a better life those I grew up with and maybe make sure that no other orphans are forgotten by the rich that's why and if you don't let me by I'll just find another way lady because thats who I am and thats what I'll do for my friends."Kai then smirked looking up "Isn't that right Master?"
The old hag then smirked transforming into a beautful woman about mid-aged with long red-hair and a green robe
"My pupil should have known I taught you to well, you have pleased me go on my child I shall find you in the city soon" The master then waved her hand opening a green potal in a doorway to the city for Kai to walk through.
Kai felt that going home his life was truly starting his heart filled with passion and potenial but just as he was stepping through his master stopped him for one last warning
"Remeber Kai although you don't want to be a Hero your magic doesn't always let you decide, I told you what you have learned will make you a target and some will not give you a choice, don't get cocky." She said this with care but also with force to make sure her student, hwoever confident, doesn't forget his power
"Come on teach, when have I ever been cocky" He said as walked backwards through the portal with a wink and smirk
Master Morganian hoped that her pupil would be able to handle himself in The City of the World.
