Born of human blood, Delta is Heartlander with a unknown past to everyone, including Delta himself. Given eternal youth by someone he has long since forgotten, he has traveled the world trying to find out who he was and why he was like this. Although, nothing can last forever. After hundreds of years of searching, Delta has even forgotten this. His goal of searching for the answer of who he is, is now gone, no longer can he remember why he is traveling. But even so, he continues on his quest, not because he wants to know, but now, it’s because he has nothing left to do. Chasing a question that he will never find the answer to, that is the only purpose he has left. A mask being the only reminder of his past.
Delta is no a god. His eternal youth does nothing but stop his ageing. In the end, he can be killed no easier than any other human. His mind is even easier to destroy, for the human mind can only take so much. After years of living in this world, his mind has been clogged up. To save himself, he will purposely erase his memories, only ever keeping the ones he needs to survive. But now, he has lost his name, calling himself Delta. He has lost his age, telling people he’s 24 years of age, when really he himself does not know. He has lived thousands of lives, some ranging from being a shop owner to being a knight who served the king.
And now, he is a mercenary who will take any job if the pay is enough. Whether it be to slay a hoard of goblins, or to hold down a shop while the owner is out. If the pay is right, he will do anything.
Delta stares at him blankly. Wondering what he should say as even he doesn’t know why he’s there. He got drunk one night and the next thing he knew, he was on a boat.
Not wanting the strange gentleman to be creeped out by his silence, Delta spoke in a deep and meaningful manner, “Honestly I don’t know myself. I also wonder why I’m really here myself.”
The man looked into my purple eyes, and in response, he said “I see. I understand the feeling, not knowing your place in the world. Wondering why you were born and if your life had some greater meaning to it. I myself am still working through it.”
Huh, what’s this guy going on about.
As the strange gentleman continued his speech, a large rusty hand grasped hold of his shoulder, “Hey Delta! What you doing already conversing with the guide. I thought you weren’t fond of conversation.
Who’s this guy.
The gentleman stopped with his whole life speech, instead of asking the man, “Are you with this nice man.”
“Yep, though I wouldn’t call him nice. If he was nice, I don’t we could use him in our little hunting session we got planned today. Right Delta?” What’s this guy talking about.
“Hunting session? What do you mean?”
“Well, don’t be too surprised but, we’re planning on killing those idiot trolls that live near here.”
Wait...What!
