Kyler was the son of Edward and Gilwen of the highlands, a blacksmith and his wife. Edwards father was a man of exceptional evil and, when Kyler was just a child, some men recognised Edwards as his father’s son and fell upon his family killing Gilwen and driving Edward and Kyler up into the north mountains to a small wood cutting village. at the age of 14 Kyler took up the axe and helped the villages by felling trees becoming a pillar of the community, while continuing to grow up there Kyler met a girl who he fell in love and married growing content and happy. a few days after the marriage Kyler was in the woods working when the raiders attacked his settlement killing many villagers and his beloved wife. Kyler return home having managed to kill an 2 of the raiders more through luck then skill to finding his father clinging to life next a corpse, an axe of beautiful craft buried in its head. taking the axe and a his father you escape whiled the small war bans celebrates it victory descending on the dead and incapacitated. With nothing to return to you sign on in with a mercenary group of Norlanders, adopting some of there ways,  while you father recovers. you commit yourself to your new life of death and coin while you father recovers. as local wars end you must travel in search of work leading you to your current path, axe in hand
