He was born in a cave that his father, Gamul, had carved. He was shown the tools and weapons that his father had crafted and sold to various people that had come though to see him. Gamul was more of a sociable dwarf than Banarv had grown to become. Banarv had watched people come in and praise his fathers work. Gamul worked with him every day, teaching him techniques for making good strong steel tools. He showed Banarv where to find the best ores and which ores were best for making certain tools. when he was 20, his father had him craft a sword by himself, judging it and showing him how to improve. At age 25 he finally made a sword that passed his fathers judgement. Gamul hung it on the wall, showing the guests he invited the sword that his son had made. But on Banarv's 43rd birthday, while his father celebrated with him, one of Gamul's friends ransacked his tools and weapons and slaughtered all his livestock. Gamul was devastated. From then on he had taught his son never to trust anyone. To treat others with distrust and keeping to himself as much as possible. After his father passed away, He had taken over the cave, only traveling to town when he aboslutly needs to. He has spent his life working in his cave. Recently, however, his cave was destroyed. He decided to move to a new land and begin a new cave, one that he hoped would give him more material to work with
I do not respond. I simply move past him, making my way towards the distant mountains. I keep my eyes forward, focused on the destination. As my father had taught me, I keep to myself, for fear of creating friends with a possible future enemy.
