    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: if I'm the one doing it (don't play roleplay games much) i usually get told I'm doing something bad and i stop. if some one else ill try but if they got to far ill call for a mod.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: it makes it that the info you know is confuddled and you break character and immersion

Roleplay Scenario:

Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Example:  i move over to the hag and take up her offer to sit "i come from the mountains and i wondering of the wares i was promised" i look at the hag seriously and focused like i was trying to pry into her mind
