Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Example: (Radahn removed his helmet, setting it gently beside him. The red glow of his eyes dimmed as he spoke in a low, steady voice. “My story? It’s not one of heroes or glory — only fire and loss.”
He placed the crimson scarf on the table before her. “Stormvale burned. My brother died. The one who caused it still walks this land. I seek him… not for vengeance, but to end what began that night.”)
Backstory:
Radahn was once a knight sworn to the forgotten kingdom of Stormvale. He lived to protect its people and guard the mountain passes from raiders and beasts. But one stormy night, the skies turned red — an army of shadowed riders attacked, led by a figure wearing a rune-etched amulet. The flames devoured his homeland; his brother fell that night, and Stormvale was lost to ashes.
Since that day, Radahn has wandered the realm alone, his heart bound by guilt and vengeance. The crimson scarf he wears belonged to his fallen brother, and the faint red glow in his armor is said to be a curse left by the fire that consumed Stormvale. He now seeks the one who caused its fall — not only for revenge, but to finally find peace in the ruins of his past.
