Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Born in the rugged northern highlands, I grew up where the winters were long, the forests dense, and survival was never guaranteed. From a young age learned to track game through snow, hunt in the woods, and defend against predators. Life in the mountains taught self-reliance, and quickly I became skilled with axe, bow, and knife, I was able to survive storms and blizzards that would have claimed others. Living mostly alone, building a small cabin hidden among the pines and learning to live off the land, trusting only wits and strength.
Occasionally I will venture to small villages and trading posts, exchanging pelts, herbs, and game for supplies I cannot make my self. People whisper about be wherever he goes—the quiet hunter from the mountains, a man as much a part of the wild as the wolves themselves. I always avoids unnecessary conflict, but anyone foolish enough to threaten me or those under my protection quickly learns why I am feared in the northern forests. A life of hardship, survival, and quiet vigilance has made me rugged, cunning, and deadly when provoked, a true lone wolf of the wilderness.
