You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” Amara eyes the woman up and down before slowly dropping to the cushion. She brushes her skirts off before looking. "I find it intriguing that you seem to have a clue of who I am, yet I do not know who you are, madam. I want to be out of here quick, though, so I will answer your question. I am Amara of the Benale family, a city folk who find themselves drawn to the open land and sea, yet stay in the hustle and bustle of a city." She sat up straighter, keeping eye contact with the hag as she continued, "I have just left my father and younger brother to start a journey of my own. Despite making that decision, I miss their presence greatly. For now, I hope to find a place to settle myself and seek an occupation. From there, I dream of bringing my families name up from the soil. Whatever that may mean." Amara then tilted her head in question, "does that satisfy you, madam?"

Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) "Oh! Hello there!" Angie says, the tense grasp on the strap of her satchel tightening slightly. Angie continues, looking back at the entrance of the tent with a nervous glance, "Wasn't expectin' anyone to be in here I was just hopin' to get out of the humidity, you know... with the swamp and all..." The stale silence of the hag continues as Angie trails off. Her wrinkled and weathered hand still outstretched towards an old rickety chair as a bead of sweat drips down the back of Angie's neck. After a beat of silence coated in a layer of fear Angie's eyes go wide as she remembers with a start what the old woman had said. "Oh, you wanted me to sit down! I'm so sorry ma'am where are my manners!" Angie adjusts her skirts, sitting down perhaps less gracefully than intended into the old chair, "You also said you were expecting me ma'am? Well, I greatly apologize but I don't believe I know anyone round here! You see, I've just arrived. I took a bit of a detour on my way back home from the city and it seems I've gotten myself quite lost. Say, you wouldn't happen to be able to give me directions back home, would ya?" The hag slowly lowers her hand back into her lap, the creaking of her bones audible in the quiet that followed Angie's long-winded rambling. "I could, perhaps, give you directions to where you seek," the hag says with a voice older than the ground itself, "if, and only if, you do what I have asked." "...wait you asked me something?" Angie says, her voice a touch louder than normal. Another moment of silence sweeps the room. "Frankly, ma'am, I don't mean to be impolite, but I was a little too... preoccupied I guess would be the word," Angie continues, "with the interesting decor you have here in your lovely abode." An exasperated sigh cuts off the end of Angie's sentence. "I said... tell me your story." "Oh, my story? Well now that I can do! Though I must warn you ma'am it's not very interesting." Angie says, "Now I started my days as a much smaller girl who filled her days by picking daisies in the fields instead of doing her chores, much to the annoyance of my parents, bless their hearts. I had quite a few siblings so me wanderin' off to go frolic in the fields wasn't too detrimental to my parent's business. My parents owned a farm you see! Grew all kinds of crops for the people in my hometown, been in the family for generations! I enjoyed it well enough, but I've always had more of a sense of adventure than the rest of my family. They'd always tell me 'Get your head out of the clouds Angeletta!' and I always told them 'But I want to know what's up there!'" Angie laughs softly, a look of sad nostalgia lighting up her eyes. "It's been difficult bein' away from them ever since I moved away. I have my own little farm though, but it gets a bit lonely when it's just the plants keepin' you company. Ya know carrots are shockingly good conversationalists once you get to know them! Anyways that's pretty much my story, besides the parts I'm not telling you because as much as you seem kind ma'am, I like to get to know people a bit better before I start spillin' all my secrets." Angie stands from the chair, brushing off any dust that may have gathered. "Now, about those directions you mentioned..."
