Elain Amethil, although not having done much during the fight displayed a toothy grin as she read her elder brothers missive. "Aye!" She hollared, waving the page skyward with mighty pride. "Once I have a weapon of my own this freak and its sibling are to be damned! I swear to Xan!"

A Paladin's attention is drawn by the use of foul language from his youngest like an unusually angry heat-seeking missile. His chosen weapon is a rolled up parchment tube.

"Language, dear. You already have a weapon, and you will go no-where but straight to bed, with talk like that."

What magic(s) will you be teaching?

             Paladinism (Connection/Disconnection)

Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

Paladinism is a five tier and three slot deific magic originating from Xan, the Aengul of Order and Guardianship. After a scrutinous and hard process of the tasks initiates are urged to complete to be deemed worthy of the magic, they will be taken to an ST approved chancery (with a Reliquary) and connected by a Paladin with a TA marked for Connection/Disconnection.)

The newly embered Paladin will display their mists individually, ranging in three distinct colors. Silver represents law and order. Gold represents guardianship, and emerald represents healing. The first sensation a newly embered Paladin will experience is the typical ‘aura’ of Xan, or a vague but wholly persistent feeling of fatherly comfort.

During the first three tiers, most spells are practicing types of basic mist manipulation, which is a struggle of mental effort for lower tier Paladins. Higher tiers are focused on refining the mists' already present abilities, benefitting in stamina and mist refinement skill. The last tiers are where one typically learns connection and disconnection, where it may apply.

When a Paladin has summoned their mists, people around them who are not dark magi will feel an extension of  Xan’s comforting aura. The radius at which this happens when not connected starts at 1m, up to 3m in the later tiers. Darkspawn may feel a passive sensation of unease, though this by no means exposes them and can’t be used to out them in any way.

Culturally, the Paladins of Xan are prompted to follow all of the tenants that the Lore provides. There are six tenants, and they are as follows.

    • The first tenet is to not engage in descendent wars, encouraging Paladins to think of themselves as above ‘mortal affairs’, though defending one’s own lands or keeps is an exception.

    • The second, that Paladins may join any organization they want as long as it doesn’t break other Covenants.

    • The third tenet is that a Paladin cannot attack, betray, and/or kill fellow Paladins. This includes sending others to kill your fellow Paladins too. Honourable duels are exempt from this.

    • The fourth, an obvious one, don’t sell out your deity. Lightstones, Xannic blessed artifacts, deific connections or anything of the like cannot be sold for personal, political, or monetary gain of any kind.

    • Tenet five says don’t use any of Xan’s powers or gifts against the innocent, except in self defence or if the person is clearly a hazard to others. Torture of innocents is also forbidden.

    • The last tenet states that Paladin’s are strictly forbidden from working with darkspawn to do evil deeds, or being a complicit bystander to those evil deeds. Though you can infiltrate dark groups, as long as you don’t violate creeds in doing so.

Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

Vindicator: A Vindicator follows the path of the Apostle Marian Cross, famed for his guardianship of the young and weak. A Vindicator’s strength will differ from Wyrmstalkers in necessary bulwarks, shields, and barriers needed for defense.

Wyrmstalker: A Wyrmstalker follows the path of the Apostle Seyren Windsor and Hilan Athna, both founders of the more militaristic style of duty. Both were regarded as zealous and tenacious fighters. Wyrmstalkers possess more offensive strategies, with spears, ballista, ect. They are known for a common aesthetic of lightening mists.

Warden: Paladins who are taught the art of disconnection. (Can be either of the subtypes above)

Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

“Got yourself into a bit of trouble, my heart?” He sighed, shaking his head at his foolish Son. He schooled his breath, inhaling deeply as emerald murk spills from the crags in his automaton arm, wreathing him in a pale facsimile of his Lord’s might. He reached for his errant child’s arm, grasping it firmly. It was neither especially long or deep, but it bled freely.

The viridescent light curled down the Paladin’s hand, seeping towards the open cut. Rivulets of holy mist slipped beneath Elias skin, flushing the area with a sense of warmth and comfort. The steady dribble of blood eased, finally beginning to clot. Elias pain eased as shimmering strands spread across the torn flesh, weaving the split skin not unlike a suture.

Rhaelanthur kept his focus on the wound as bright strands pulled the flesh flush once more. The wound was a dark line that was rapidly lightening as emerald seared the wound shut with holy light, sealing the once-bleeding injury as nothing but a silvery scar.

Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

“Okay, Oem’ii.  Take this necklace and find your place near the sapphire lion.” Rhael spoke towards his student, offering the item to him as he passed by.

“Why?” Jonathan  inquired as he took the object, kneeling down in front of the lion in the middle of the Chancery, his gaze looking over the necklace before looking to his teacher.

“Today, you are going to perform a blessing like I've shown you. ” The Paladin utters in a low hum. “Call forth the Lord’s gifts. Focus on your mists, forming the blessing to the intent you wish to hold. Push the mists into the necklace.” He directed, clapping his student on the shoulder, stepping back then to watch. “Feel the meaning of that blessing, and speak what words you need to affirm it.”

Jonathan gave a solemn nod towards his teacher, his gaze affixing to the necklace, bringing up his free hand to cup the object. Upon taking a shallow breath, his golden mist starts to encircle around his hands as he begins to speak, “Be still, your mind as empty as a tree in late fall.” He hums in prayer, “Be serene as the ashes that fell onto Karlems blade.” He continues to speak the prayer.

Say your student powergames during or after teaching, how do you reprimand that?

When learning the boundaries of a new magic, there’s bound to be a few incidents eventually. I would personally reach out to them in DM’s and explain the lore, encouraging them to ask questions about the details and redlines if they need. I usually follow this up by taking a snapshot of that particular paragraph in the lore and send them in discord so my students can read it and have easy access to refer to it afterwards. Most powergaming I find (thanks to the trials being a pain) is lack of knowledge, not intent.

    Creator's MC Name:

             A_Keefy, Timbap

    Creator's RP Name:

             Hareven Lorenthus, Ciliren Lorenthus

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

A machine spirit is an automaton that carries the soul of a descendent or sentient creature. To accomplish this, the construct has been made with a heart filled with the blood of the person. That blood is used to bind said person's soul into the craft, creating a sentient construct. In the beginning of the transfer, the person must learn to navigate the world in their new body as though returned to an infantile or toddler-like state, relearning to walk, talk and other fine and gross motor skills. Though the Machine spirit can learn to inhabit this body as though it were it's own, there will always be a longing for what has been lost (The flesh body).

Because this body is of clockwork design, it will require oiling, replacing old internals, replacing stripped gears and other machine-based maintenance. Along this same vein, a machine spirit much have alternative husks available to them, otherwise death in their current body will result in a PK. (With the destruction of their current body’s heart, that is). Eventually, the machine spirit may run out of the natural blood needed to initially create the Machine Spirit. However, the main fluids from former husks can also be used, as long as they still contain the alchemical reagents needed to identify the person’s soul.

If this construct or creature has some form of aesthetic choice, can you describe how they look?

Black/Dark grey plating. Humanoid features. AS he was an ex-spider cannibal, his features would likely be sharp and angular, with sharpened teeth and a large body. (Gimme claws I'm edgy)

             Yes.

Memey RP or using this CA for subpar villain/bandit RP can lead to your app being denied, even after acceptance. Please put "I understand" as your response once you have read this part and understand the consequences.

             I understand.

  8. A certain one-armed, scarred Paladin spots the missive from afar, hanging on the notice board of Haense. He blinks, and laughs. The 'thill laughs.. and laughs, until tears wet his cheeks from mirth. He plucks it up, and takes it home, pinning it above his desk on the 'wall of incredibly stupid things'.

From there he stands back, hands on his hips, and just stares.

    "Well ****."

  9. So this is just food for thought, but.

Scarcity is an unfortunate necessity of any resource that's both sought out and is actively influencing the economy. However, having the current nodes set up to be global allows people to oocly camp out sections of the map and particular resources, enabling one portion of a playerbase to have that resource in excess while all others do not, and then charging exorbitant prices. (Which is, bah, inflation! the thing we want to avoid for now, it being a new map)

I personally think that scarcity should be enforced not by global nodes, but by personally keyed nodes that are varied by cooldown times on the herbs themselves depending on their lore-appointed scarcity, as well as the actual scarcity of the nodes (which would take some pressure off the teams for plotting in all the herb nodes anyways).

For an example, a rare herb will only have 5 nodes map wide, with 24 hour cooldowns (just as a ballpark)

While a common herb will have 25-30 nodes, and a 3 hour cooldown.

This will enable people to use the herb plugin as they do vortex, each with individual grind limits per day (based on how the herbs refresh, or maybe have herb grinding take energy?) while still allowing playerbases to not feel cheated when they run for 50 minutes straight around the map without a single herb gained for it.

    Name of your plant/reagent:

    Foxglove

    Sign(s):

    Water, Air

    Symbol(s):

    Endurance x3
    Chaos x6
    Swiftness x4

    Appearance:

A tall, bright green stalk with spade shaped leaves and conical groups of downturned, bell-shaped flowers that can come in violet or white. The inside of the bell-flowers are speckled with dark purple splotches

    Location:

Fields and sparse forests, found in the shade of deciduous trees or long grasses, sheltered from rain and direct sunlight in a temperate climate. It’s rare and exceedingly difficult to find.

    Raw effect(s) of the plant/reagent:

Otherwise known as dead man's bells and witch's gloves, Foxglove is a potently poisonous plant.

Symptoms of this plant include irregular pulse, brachycardia, tachycardia, seizures, visual hallucinations, delirium and death depending upon amount ingested, or introduced to the vascular system.

Inhaling Foxglove pollen will yield the same symptoms above, alongside shortness of breath and profuse coughing.

Diluted doses of tincture made from the root of Foxglove can give one a burst of energy, and aid in preventing cardiovascular illnesses.

    Harvesting:

The entire plant is rife with alchemical properties and can be harvested whole. A delicate plant, it’s usually found in the shade of deciduous trees. Its toxicity can be a hazard to the harvester if introduced to bare skin or a cut. Breathing in the plant’s pollen is similarly toxic. Gloves and a mask are required to safely harvest this botanical reagent.

Introduction of Foxglove sap to skin will result in a vibrant green stain that lasts for 1-3 IC months, or 1 OOC day.

    Foxglove cannot be farmed.

    Red Lines:

-All Reagents must be gathered through RP and represented by ST approved items.

-When processed for it’s Symbols, this Reagent will lose all of its raw effects and harvesting capabilities.

-Foxglove can not be farmed thanks to its delicate nature, as no seed will sprout outside of its natural habitat, and plants that are pulled from the soil will always perish before it can be transplanted.

-One Foxglove plant will result in one quarter measure of reagent or tincture.

-More than two measures of Foxglove will prove a fatal dose.

-Processed Foxglove is a distinctive green in colour that cannot be entirely concealed, even when added to stronger tinctures or reagents.

-Foxglove pollen is toxic for as long as the plant is living. Once it’s pulled from the ground, the pollen is rendered inert.

  11. A Paladin side-eyes his wife, missive in hand. Well aware that he was about to be suplexed through the floor, he opens his maw and lets loose an eldritch shriek of fervent desire.

“Tis our duty as ‘thill to engage in debate in the name of Maehr’sae Hiylun’ehya. To cut such down with this.. derisive terminology is a crime against Larihei herself..”

The young Paladin breathed a soft sigh of sorrow, an ode of grief to his lost Llir before continuing to speak unto himself.

”Ay’Azorella Elibar’acal, Maheral of El’cihithilln... Whose kindness, taught us Kaean'leh thilln chul'okarae. For Ay’Maheralan simply.. are.

  13. An abhorrent ‘ker devours what enlightenment can be found amidst the written poster- Musings ensnared by the graven image of the Apocrypha. A chatter rattles deep in the broad-chested idolater, followed by a bemused meeting of malign and jagged teeth. Tracing an begrimed digit upon the writing, the ‘ker employed his elementary level of literacy. The scathing sound soon to erupt seemed an unfitting form of laughter that readily trailed into a thin, reedy hiss.

    Interesssting. Dsaru like’s this one.”
