  1. A Paladin's attention is drawn by the use of foul language from his youngest like an unusually angry heat-seeking missile. His chosen weapon is a rolled up parchment tube. "Language, dear. You already have a weapon, and you will go no-where but straight to bed, with talk like that."
  2. Deep in catacombs of Sunbreak Keep, A Paladin sought bitter silence. A familiar paper clenched in hand. Better the silence here, than a missing voice in the halls above. They've taken Tarathiel. His compass has been stolen Deep in the catacombs of Sunbreak Keep, A Paladin broke his bitter silence. "Order Demands Servitude; Guardianship Demands Sacrifice." The dawn rises over the mountain peaks. So it begins.
  3. A one-armed Paladin reads the missive with a raised brow. "How unfortunate." He very casually ripped the paper into very small scraps. In the background, a skygod cackles in human nation ****.

  5. A certain one-armed, scarred Paladin spots the missive from afar, hanging on the notice board of Haense. He blinks, and laughs. The 'thill laughs.. and laughs, until tears wet his cheeks from mirth. He plucks it up, and takes it home, pinning it above his desk on the 'wall of incredibly stupid things'. From there he stands back, hands on his hips, and just stares. "Well ****."
  6. So this is just food for thought, but. Scarcity is an unfortunate necessity of any resource that's both sought out and is actively influencing the economy. However, having the current nodes set up to be global allows people to oocly camp out sections of the map and particular resources, enabling one portion of a playerbase to have that resource in excess while all others do not, and then charging exorbitant prices. (Which is, bah, inflation! the thing we want to avoid for now, it being a new map) I personally think that scarcity should be enforced not by global nodes, but by personally keyed nodes that are varied by cooldown times on the herbs themselves depending on their lore-appointed scarcity, as well as the actual scarcity of the nodes (which would take some pressure off the teams for plotting in all the herb nodes anyways). For an example, a rare herb will only have 5 nodes map wide, with 24 hour cooldowns (just as a ballpark) While a common herb will have 25-30 nodes, and a 3 hour cooldown. This will enable people to use the herb plugin as they do vortex, each with individual grind limits per day (based on how the herbs refresh, or maybe have herb grinding take energy?) while still allowing playerbases to not feel cheated when they run for 50 minutes straight around the map without a single herb gained for it. @SquakHawk Thoughts?
  7. Name of your plant/reagent: Foxglove Sign(s): Water, Air Symbol(s): Endurance x3 Chaos x6 Swiftness x4 Appearance: A tall, bright green stalk with spade shaped leaves and conical groups of downturned, bell-shaped flowers that can come in violet or white. The inside of the bell-flowers are speckled with dark purple splotches Location: Fields and sparse forests, found in the shade of deciduous trees or long grasses, sheltered from rain and direct sunlight in a temperate climate. It’s rare and exceedingly difficult to find. Raw effect(s) of the plant/reagent: Otherwise known as dead man's bells and witch's gloves, Foxglove is a potently poisonous plant. Symptoms of this plant include irregular pulse, brachycardia, tachycardia, seizures, visual hallucinations, delirium and death depending upon amount ingested, or introduced to the vascular system. Inhaling Foxglove pollen will yield the same symptoms above, alongside shortness of breath and profuse coughing. Diluted doses of tincture made from the root of Foxglove can give one a burst of energy, and aid in preventing cardiovascular illnesses. Harvesting: The entire plant is rife with alchemical properties and can be harvested whole. A delicate plant, it’s usually found in the shade of deciduous trees. Its toxicity can be a hazard to the harvester if introduced to bare skin or a cut. Breathing in the plant’s pollen is similarly toxic. Gloves and a mask are required to safely harvest this botanical reagent. Introduction of Foxglove sap to skin will result in a vibrant green stain that lasts for 1-3 IC months, or 1 OOC day. Foxglove cannot be farmed. Red Lines: -All Reagents must be gathered through RP and represented by ST approved items. -When processed for it’s Symbols, this Reagent will lose all of its raw effects and harvesting capabilities. -Foxglove can not be farmed thanks to its delicate nature, as no seed will sprout outside of its natural habitat, and plants that are pulled from the soil will always perish before it can be transplanted. -One Foxglove plant will result in one quarter measure of reagent or tincture. -More than two measures of Foxglove will prove a fatal dose. -Processed Foxglove is a distinctive green in colour that cannot be entirely concealed, even when added to stronger tinctures or reagents. -Foxglove pollen is toxic for as long as the plant is living. Once it’s pulled from the ground, the pollen is rendered inert.
  8. Does this mean that the freeze on submitting new herb lore is still in effect, or no?
  9. A Paladin side-eyes his wife, missive in hand. Well aware that he was about to be suplexed through the floor, he opens his maw and lets loose an eldritch shriek of fervent desire. Roarke and Theyo Ulkarys, Born in the year 1685 to Mother Lilita Ulkarys, are rare twins borne to a dark elf mother from an unknown human father. Throughout childhood, they advanced in growth as any young dark elves. However, as they grew, their hair began to darken and they were strangely short for their tall elfin family. Identical twins whom were so, achingly close to each other to be able to communicate with only a glance and had done Everything together since before birth, they thought nothing of this darkening of hair. Although their Mother shared the white hair of her typical heritage, they had familial ancestry that lent darker haired elves in their ancestral lines. Extremely proud and very prejudiced, this family praised the ancestors above all, and rejected any bloodline addition to their family that could be traced to an ancestor that worshiped the dark trinity, or any religion other than their own. Due to this, they began a practice of inbreeding in some of the familial circles. This, led to a rise in mental illness and birth defects due to inbreeding in the family. Their mother, was a product of this and had much difficulty understanding right from wrong. This inability eventually led to her forcing herself on a drunken human in a moment of curiosity, resulting in her pregnancy with her sons. The Human Man moved on along trading routes after wards, and is this far, unknown. At this time, the entire family believed themselves above others n a snobbish way, despite being generally disliked by the populace of Caras Eldar, the jewel of elven dominion. Soon after their 17th birthday, the darkening of hair became long shocks of vibrant ginger and crimson in Theyo and Roarke, which was a distinctly human color unseen in their familial lineage. Realizing for the first time of their own true parentage, the twins stuck close together and generally stopped speaking for another year, relying solely on eachother as the news was largely hidden by cutting of their hair. On an evening soon after their 18th birthday, their red hair cuttings were discovered by their grandfather whom immediately realize their parentage, leading to a mass mob of their family chasing them out of their home as they were embarrassed by the scandal and struck them from the family name. Their Mother abandoned and rejected them as her children to preserve her familial connections. She, took her dagger and slashed Roarke's ear clean off, resulting in a scar wrapping around the top of his head and one rounder ear. She did this in desperation to preserve her place in the family, and said she was ridding the twins of their 'Elven heritage, unbefitting the sons of man'. Taking only the clothes and weapons they wore at the time, which included two bows, a quiver half full of arrows and two dark elven crafted swords, they migrated to Arcas to find refuge from their family whom was now intent on their death. After a few years of living in the wastelands, they encountered a patrol of high elves whom found their mixed heritage distasteful. The encounter left Theyo with a deep wound, leading to blood poisoning. This, a trait that his human heritage left him vulnerable to unfortunately ended his life. Roarke, in misery without his other half, his twin, remains a homeless wanderer. He lives primarily in wastelands and wildlands, taking frequent trips to sutica to trade goods and maintain his sanity with the occasional interaction. His past with both dark and high elves, causes him to e very prejudiced against thm, to which he will refuse to generally spea with them without a very good cause and even then he comes off as rude to many. He is generally disliked due to his attitude. As a half blood, he will very, Very likely never have a child, and he will only live for 150 years. He has an aversion to speaking, but will say his mind in a crude and honest way when he feels its neccesary. He worships his ancestors as he firmly believes his beloved brother has become one, and often prays and makes shrines to him. Prone to joint overextension, another hiccup from imbreeding, Roarke calls himself Rory to dissociate with both his human and elven heritage and he lives his life as a guard for hire. Trained from a young age in the art of swordsmanship by his family, he gives these skills freely as he can and uses his archery skills he learnt from Theyo on the road to Arcas, he is a skilled hunter. Though he uses no magic and thinks himself incapable, he still finds ways to help those around him. Also, he refuses to acknowledge or use his last name, as he was disowned by his family and he blames them for Theyo’s death.
