Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

    Phantoms (and their sub-races) are often unlucky souls who had met their death;

however, instead of returning to the Relative Center, through means unknown to Descendants,

Daemons, and Aenguls alike, these souls find themselves returned to the world they had left seconds,

minutes, perhaps even years ago. These souls, now in a 'physical' manifestation, are known as Revenants.

Revenants are the unluckiest of the three sub-races, as their newfound properties cause them high amounts

of stress and weakness- an unfortunate turn of events for those who require a need of readjustment. These

'babies' to the Phantom life struggle with basic tasks that they once may not have, ranging from holding a spoon

to opening a door to their wine cellar. Most notably, their mental stability has all but shattered, leaving them dangling

within their own mental prison. To find their peace and clarity in their new state, a Revenant must properly perform

Geistreach. This process gently drains a living victim of a portion of their life force, letting them feel a sense of

relief while inflicting the victim with a curse. Depending on OOC factors, the power of the curse may be dramatic.

Upon reaching a satiated state using Geistreach, a Revenant is able to move on from the 'baby' stage, opening two

vastly different options. The first, crueler fate, would be the Poltergeist. Having forcefully gone against the hand fate

dealt to them, Poltergeists are highly more twisted and darken-natured than a Spectre. Their Ectoplasm morphs into a

Hellish-Red, brutally altered to be almost primitive, beastlike in both nature and appearance. They prove to be a

formidable problem to those around it, aggression and hate burning within it. Any mental disorders or inflictions have

thus been magnified greatly, only serving to their insanity tenfold. Their newfound rage and despair brings an

alteration into what a Phantom is capable of. These potentially deadly beings are capable of wicked acts such as

possessing an (innocent) soul, creating an uncomfortable aura around them, and even Haunting a spot of the world.

Haunts greatly increase to what end a Poltergeist can inflict their terror, yet are unable to depart from said location.

On the more tamer side of things are Spectres, who can be classified as a polar opposite of Poltergeists. Along with

this, Revenants who find themselves at peace with whom they have become are much more stable than their

counterparts, yet have little to no desire of problems, lest their incoporeal hand has been forced. Furthermore, they

are often the kindest forms that a Phantom can become, capable of more positive interactions with those around

them if they so wish. Their once hazy appearance becomes much more fragile-like, as if their once unstable

mental prison had become something beautiful, only physically portrayed. As Spectres are of kind nature,

they possess unnatural powers that are, unsurprisingly, much more tame than their demon-like counterpart.

With the ability of a safer aura instead of a fearful one, this is further improved upon when a Spectre creates

a Sanctuary, instead of a Haunt. Their powers are improved upon greatly within these, yet are bound to their

safest place on the mortal plane. However, cruel irony awaits, as they may be subject to possible purging.

If this construct or creature has some form of aesthetic choice, can you describe how they look?

Upon Alejandro's 'revival' as a Revenant, his appearance would more than likely be less of him.

Instead of a flesh and blood body, most if not all would be replaced by Ectoplasm. Most commonly,

this substance takes upon the appearance of a simple greyscale of the deceased's former body.

Eyes, ears, even fingernails would lose a majority of their defining features, as if Alejandro had

been molded from damp transparent clay. Thankfully, for LotC to keep a somewhat PG-13 rating,

unless directly related to a Revenant's previous death, internal organs, bones, and muscles would

be practically non-existant! At least they're somewhat appealing to the eye, right..?

             Of course!

Do you understand that if this creature's lore is undergoing an activity trial and that trial fails, you will no longer be able to play this creature and will be forced to either revert the character back to its normal form (if it was a transformative type) or stop playing the character entirely (if it is an entirely new creature)?:

             Yes.

Memey RP or using this CA for subpar villain/bandit RP can lead to your app being denied, even after acceptance. Please put "I understand" as your response once you have read this part and understand the consequences.

What magic(s) will you be teaching?

             Alchemy

Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

Alchemy, in and of itself, is practically the core being of the material world. From flora to fauna, a myriad of objects are responsive to Alchemical creations. The most common form of Reagent, Herbs, are scattered across the landscape, local to locations that reflect their very Signs and Symbols. Varying between Diddyfunkle, King's Ivy, and many more, reagents are numerous things. In its most simplistic form, Alchemy is practically cooking. The ingredients are the Signs and Symbols, with Recipes listing the process and steps to creating a potion (or other Alchemical creation). Potions can become a blessing or a curse, depending on how they are applied to either Descendants, other creatures of living, or even un-living, nature. Once the potion is made, if it requires such as listed on the forums, a story request (/sreq) must be made before the potion can be considered valid in roleplay. Alchemy encompasses practically the world, as if it's a twisted form of modern day science. The key difference? It's a world where (almost) anything goes, limitless (limited) choices and ways of living.

Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

Alchemy technically is forever expanding, as long as new potions and creations are properly approved by the Story Team. However, there are three essential pieces in order to properly understand (and use) Alchemy:

    •  Signs
    •  Symbols
    •  Recipes

Signs are one of the main components regarding any type of reagent native to the material world. Water, Air, Fire, Earth, and Aether make up the five signs, with 'subtraits' partnering these on reagents.

Symbols refer to the effect that an Alchemical Creation would have. A sampling of these include, but are not limited to: Death, Sound, Clarity, Weakness, and Order. Mixing proper Symbols and Signs would require the need of something to follow... perhaps a Recipe?

Recipes! Having a hodgepodge of Signs and Symbols wouldn't get someone anywhere if they didn't have a recipe! Recipes are the recipe to success when attempting to create something with Alchemy. However, not only do recipes list the Signs, Symbols, and base required, they oft carry a process as well. An example of this would be 'Stir the blood slowly, adding in two parts of Death in a powdered form'.

These are the main components to Alchemy, but not learning the Feat itself. Tiers, like with Evocation or Dark Magic, follow a similar time-based structure of progression.

Tier One is the most basic, with students more than likely needing resources in order to assure they are following the proper creation procedures. Many potions are locked behind further Tiers- Personally, this is the 'Testing Tier', to see if a student has the dedication and fervor to truly take up the Feat. Lasting two weeks, a potion can be made per day, resulting in a limit of 14 Tier One potions in the base stage.

Tier Two, unsurprisingly, is the next after being Tier One for the maximum amount of time. More potions gradually are open for the student to attempt, but may struggle with grasping the art of Alchemy on their own. Two potions of Tier One or Two quality can be made per day, a maximum of 112 potions during this Tier's duration.

Tier Three is the final stage, with the student graduating from basic learning after eight weeks of Tier Two. Now a master of the arts, the Alchemist can create up to three per day, with no limit of Tier quality. However, Rare Potions must be taught by Alchemists who have teaching ability and know how to craft one themselves.

Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

As the crowd outside grew in volume, Miriel sighed, taking the herbs she had paid for and exited the shop, paying no mind to the sale next door. On her walk home the sun began to set Moonlight starting to shine through the now gym clouds that ruled the skies upon arriving home, Miriel closed the door with another sigh, knowing that there would be more to have done. Unpacking the herbs he had bought, she searched through the cupboards for the mortar and pestle that she had been given as a gift from a now-deceased friend. Running a finger along the handcrafted object, she chuckled, strapping on some gloves before moving the herbs into the pestle.

Eventually, the moon had been covered up by the clouds themselves, a light drizzle of rain poured from the skies. She paid mind to the change of weather, taking in the scent with a relieved expression. This put her at ease while she worked, grinding the herbs up into a fine powder, now practically chalky. After extracting the Sound Symbols from the herbs, the rest was tossed outside, a stormy gust of wind taking the remaining powder and spreading it across the nearby terrain. "Whatever happens, happens." She chided.

Upon completing the mundane task, she decided to let the mortar sit with the powder, moving to toss a clump of lard into a pot. The pot itself was nothing special with a few burn marks at the bottom, a clear sign of use often. Underneath the pot, a small pile of dry wood set awaiting to be lit by a flame. Once the lard was in the pot, Miriel brought a nearby candle to the base of the logs hoping to light the fire beneath the main object required for the potion. After a few attempts of the candlewick's flame nearing the wood, a spark lit it up, a roar as the burning wood grew in heat and intensity.

Letting the burning pot sit for multiple minutes on end, a splash of Sound Symbols were added into the pot, coating the heated lard. Letting a hand close to the newmade oil, it was clear to the Alchemist that the potion's creation had been a success. Tossing a small pail of water onto the flames, she grabbed three separate bottles, corks primed to contain the Alchemy.

Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

Miriel knocked upon the door a few times, signaling her arrival. It swung open, and the student greeted her with a nod. Returning such, she entered the residency, setting down a bag with a clink within.

"Show me the progress so far." Following the student close behind, Miriel nodded upon inspecting a pot. "Well done, you've clearly been making strides. However..." Reaching forth to take hold of a spoon, she stirred it rapidly, tilting the contents towards the student. "Your mixture previously consisted of pure water and Strength, correct? Did you notice how you had a pile of it at the top there? ...I see. An honest mistake, I don't blame you." She chuckled, letting the student do the rest of the mixing.

"When I was being taught, I struggled with identifying herbs. Goodness, I thought Beardweed was once Aether, how wrong I used to be." She rolled her eyes, opening the bag she brought. "Don't be so hard on yourself, weakness isn't the reagent you're made of." ... "A jest. Now, I do have the Goblin's Ivy you requested, but if you want it, then we'll have you take a quiz. You agree? Excellent." With a smile, she offered the test of base Alchemical knowledge.

Say your student powergames during or after teaching, how do you reprimand that?

I believe, in my own opinion, it would depend upon the severity. Baseline would be a week without teachings, with this being the most mundane of severity. Examples of this form of powergaming would include purposefully extracting a sign/symbol from a reagent without that sign/symbol being present at all. Upwards to a month without teachings would be the most severe, as it would be detrimental for both the persona and the player to have their teachings halted. An example of this severity is if the student were to make a rare potion that has not been taught, or directly controlling the potion's effect on someone after they use it. If need be, I would have to drop the student altogether if they consistently (and purposefully) powergame. In the end, I believe it is a case by case scenario for each instant of how detrimental the powergaming is.

  4. 19 hours ago, Riftiro said:

The very young Aurelian von Audrick giggled, not knowing what half of the words on the missive read. "Hehehe, we wuz Waldenians."

Aldrich von Audrick watched his little brother laugh, adding to it by tickling him in the armpits to add to his giggle fit.

  5. Torstein Eiriksson Ruric walked up to an old Krugsmas tree in Eirikssgrad, hands folded by his chest. “Hey… Vater. I know we haven't given you a proper funeral yet, like you requested. I… Father is still sleeping. He's not woken up yet.Blinking, he let the hushed tears fall to the ground. “I wanted to leave, Vater. When I first heard that you were gone, I… I had everything. I was scared. Without you? What was I going to do? I don't know, I still don't know.” He sat down in the snow, taking off his coat, shoes, and gloves. “Remember Krugsmas? When you taught me and Helios how to make Gingerbread Houses? Or that time when I threw those plates?” The laughter didn't last long. “Vater… thank you for being my vater. I'm going to face life head on.”  He watched as a breeze drifted through the Keep windows, the ornaments wiggling on the flimsy branches. Torstein gazed out the window, a dullen sunshine passing through as a shadow formed on his face. A bird perched on the windowsill, gazing at the mourning man. Reaching out for it, the finch jumped back, flying away. Smiling, he went down the stairs and out the front door of Eirikssgrad.

You cannot cage a finch. They adapt to life.

  9. Of the Candidate Sanboizu Hiroto

昇る太陽の前 - In Front of the Rising Sun

    Sakura blossom,

    standing within Haenseti sun,

    now bows before all.

My tomodachis, my friends, and allies. Upon us is a golden opportunity for

any citizen of the Hanseti-Ruska nation, the future now to be decided by the People.

After having been in the nation for a couple of years,

I wish to give back to my fullest extent.

Having arrived on Almaris years ago along with my fellow Oyashimen,

each and every citizen I have met thus far has shown their dedication to their nation, a truly noble feat.

The People within these walls have lives bound together, tighter than any entanglement of tree’s branch.

Their lives carry value, no matter their status, supporting friends and family alike.

I believe this is why Haense has come to prosper as it has.

Yet, with every nation, that means flaw surely accompanies every step of progress.

It is undeniable that when one issue has been fixed, two more can, and will, sprout from a cursed land.

Therefore, I, Sanboizu Hiroto, have decided to run for Royal Alderman.

I humbly request that my opponents be not called rivals, enemies, or words of the sort.

Instead, they shall be referred to as companions, as any other candidates will share my goal:

Reinforce Haense as a beautiful nation of opportunity for all.

As with us all, we have our own values imbued when taking thoughts into account, myself included.

Were I to be elected by the People, I believe my first order of business would be a proper

submission box for issues and conflicts that may arise within our walls. Hearing each and

every voice is the key to maintaining balance and order of Haense.

You, the People, carry this nation on your shoulders.

Let it be known each and every one of you hold tremendous power.

In the coming years, once the Aldermen have run their terms,

I look forward to seeing you all in the future.

  10. A lass from the now-removed Sutica stood near the entrance, giving it a thorough lookover. "Nice place. It will be interesting to see it repopulate." After remarking the fact to herself, she made her way home.

  11. Torstein Eiriksson Ruric climbed up the stairs on all fours, giggling to himself as he went to the dining room table. "I had such a good dream, I was swimming in the ocean!" Nobody was around to hear the child's energetic dream, but he didn't mind! He tried to make the table to surprise his vater, washing the dirty plates by licking them.

    And he sat. And waited.

And he sat some more. And he waited some more.

All he could do was sit. And all he could do was wait. Sit and wait for someone who had gone missing.
