Prejva, people of Haense! I am Clement-Ritz Devonshire, a subject of Haense. I hereby announce my campaign for a seat in the Senate of our great nation. I write this speech in high hopes of attaining your gracious and proud support for my running. I would like to introduce myself to the great people of this nation.

I am currently a loyal subject to the strong kingdom of Haense and their delightful monarchy. Previously, I had been born in 1732 on the grounds of the Devonshire house that had originally been in Haense territory. However, My family was not the most prominent of people. My father and mother were merchants and provided for me and my four siblings. Our governess had taken care of us mostly, raised us as if we were her own, and taught us very little information about the world and politics. My parents had not been at the house much either, therefore us siblings had to also take care of each other and built a community of friendship and care. Moreover, We had been told of the 1734 war of the Holy Orenian Empire against the Federation of Mohk-Urak. Little had we known of its effect on the farmers, who started to rebel. Our parents fled the house to the old city of Reza and had not returned. Little had we known it was the last time we would ever see them again. This was the first event in which I had seen the pure unhappiness of the working class. The house staff fled including our governess. This was also a moment in which we had seen the selfishness of others. My siblings and I escaped on a small cart to a village at the border of the country, and were caught by rebel farmers. We tried to escape but alas, I had been separated from them and kept hostage on a small merchant vessel. The vessel had set sail towards the city of Reza, once there, I had been set free as they found no work for me on the vessel, which exposed me to the lack of jobs. Thus, I escaped into the woods where I have fended for myself for six years. In this beautiful city, I have unfortunately noticed the small and abysmal dwellings, the raising taxes, and what could potentially be a deadlocked situation on construction.

In my running, I aim to end the degradation of a refined and cultured city. Although I am a new citizen of three years to the city, I have been exposed to what the kingdom of Haense is in dire need of. Progression and an uplift. The great kingdom is falling into the crutches of what could become a very turbulent era. The great Baroque Era of Haense shall not fall. The people need assistance. The people need well-wage jobs. The people need homes. The people must not suffer in our kingdom. Over the past three years I have seen no progression from our current senators. The current senators are not what should be considered ‘public servants.’ Although I am a common subject, and not part of the great Peerage which currently governs our kingdom, I hope that I can become an inspiration in my cause as I want to prove that a common person can bring great change to a great kingdom through new and progressive ideas. Although I am a new citizen, that should not dissuade you from my enlightened ideas for the great kingdom of Haense! I will bring the new ideals of progression to the subjects of our kingdom! As senator, I will serve the public in every other way than our current monotonous and stagnant senators have. As a royalist and loyalist to our people I will provide aid and potentially the era of new progressive ideas.

    My goals:

    • Affordable and available homes for new and current subjects. These homes will not be the current tenements.

    • More job opportunities for players in the empire.

    • New communicable and amicable mediaries that will be able to assist players who visit/reside in the empire.

    • Reasonable Taxes.

    • Equality for our working class subjects in the empire.

    • Restore our cultural and foundational values.

    • Providing food and better welfare to the empire’s working class.

With your vote, people of Haense, we can make Haense an amazing nation once again for I care about us subjects!

    Thank you people of Haense!

    -Clement-Ritz Devonshire.
