Biography of Mistesy of Sutica Introduction: This story begins with a young woman in the settlement of Ves in the Kingdom of Haense. She was a peasant worker and very much alone. None of the other residents in Ves saw much of her, she was just the woman working in the pigsty and nothing more. Ves had a lot of internal issues for a long time and the woman wanted to stay out of it. Her actions and secrets would therefore go by unnoticed, even her disappearances during the night. In secrecy a child was born in the backroom of the pigsty. The woman had conceived a child, but with whom? The newborn child looked at it’s mother with it’s bright lilac eyes. It was then and there that the woman knew nobody could ever find out about the child, her newborn secret. The child was to be named Mistesy. Childhood and teenage years: The child did not have an easy life growing up in the settlement of Ves. With no friends or any sort of social interactions, only that of together with her mother, she felt quite alone. She lived in the backroom of the pigsty and was only allowed out during the night when everyone was deep asleep. At the age of 7, Mistesy’s mother took her on a trip one night. She was told that they were going to see a man. After hours of walking they entered a small cabin in the woods where they were met by a tall, pale man. Suddenly some sort of commotion occurred outside the cabin. Mistesy peeked out and saw a group of men who looked similar to the pale man. He exited the small cabin and started talking with them. Abruptly, he was thrown back into the cabin by the other men, and as they entered they saw Mistesy together with her mother cowering in the corner. They both watched in horror as they brutally assaulted the pale man. Mistesy’s mother took her hand and they ran, ran as fast as they could. They arrived back in Ves just before sunrise but the word of mouth had spread faster. Everyone in Ves had gathered by the gates together with more of the pale men. Everyone looked at Mistesy, The Bastard Child of Ves. All of a sudden, a big explosion towered behind the walls of the settlement. The Bastard Child of Ves was no longer the center of attention. The pale men fled the scene and the villagers of Ves screamed in horror as the settlement stood ablaze. Ves’ regime had fallen due to the internal tensions. Mistesy’s mother grabbed her by the shoulders, looked her in the eyes and told her to run, run away and never look back. With tears streaming down Mistesy’s face she did as she was told. She ran and ran for hours until she collapsed and fell asleep in a ditch. She was awaken by a peculiar man, a traveller and trader by the looks of his attire. He asked Mistesy why a young girl as herself was sleeping in the ditch by the road. She explained to him that she was seeking refuge, a place of safety. He introduced himself as Baldehr of Sutica. He had been trading in Curon but was heading back home to Sutica. He described his homeland as a place for everyone, where everyone was welcomed. Mistesy had lived her whole life as quite the opposite. He offered Mistesy a seat on his wagon but warned her that the journey would be long and treacherous. She accepted. Mistesy was now heading to an unknown land with an unknown man. The Journey: As described by Baldehr, The Free State of Sutica was known for it’s prosperous trade and peaceful liberalism. He told Mistesy about the Trade Monarchs and how important they were for the history and Sutica. He talked about the duel between Terr’hi Uialben and Mika Goldhand in 1735, a duel for the nation that would effect the Free State of Sutica for many years to come. Of course, it was a lot of information for a 7-year old to take in but she enjoyed his stories and tales and found a sort of comfort in them. It helped her paint a view of her new home. Baldehr and Mistesy became close on their way to Sutica. When they arrived, Baldehr and Mistesy were to part ways. Mistesy was anxious and confused as she stood there alone by the merchant stalls. Baldehr decided that he could not leave her. He therefore adopted her and she took on the name Mistesy of Sutica, it had a nice ring to it and she was, after all, finally home. Present day: Ate the age of 22, Mistesy had become a strong and charismatic young woman, but Baldehr was old. It was late in the year of 1759 when Baldehr passed away. She mourned her late adoptive father and for the first time in her life Mistesy was truly alone, however she was not afraid. Baldehr had taught her so much about the world and she felt very grateful for that. She mourned, but she was ready to take on the world all by herself.
