Ray Hawkins, born to Jack Hawkins and Bel d'Lyandar. Bel was a new merchant and Jack was the only deck officer on a small cargo ship delivering her goods. It was there they fell in love. Bel's merchant trade grew quickly as at first she was working with the smugglers guild, While Jack is a highlander commander brought into the heartlander navy after showing exceptional skill as a sailor. Though he struggles to move upwards in the heartlander navy, he refuses to use Bels' connections to force his growth. During a rather long trip when Jack was master of his own cargo ship and before Bel was well-renowned, she suddenly went through contractions. In an effort to reach nearby town they changed course after seeing a mountain top. but unbeknownst to them they headed into a seriously dangerous area, the clouds became murky and a thunderclap roared. The crew taking damage became disorganized, had it not been for Jack taking control, the ship may have capsized that day. The sailors being hale and hearty recovered quickly, and Bel even more determined than the rest pushed through the pain. Ray was born shortly after in a town outside the mountain. Even still he feels a call from that mountain as if the entity inside was reaching out to him asking for his audience. Ray grew up surrounded by merchants and rugged sailors. From the Heartlander merchants he learned how to speak well and weed out deceivers. He used these skills in talking to the highlander sailors where he learned his stubbornness and sailing skills. Eventually also being brought before the cargo company his father acquired and learning about things such as smuggling and locations of islands off major governments radars. As such he knows the the names and faces of every merchant and sailor in Haense's ports and many outside of it who have traveled through, as well as the trust of many shady businessmen and hidden hot spots across the world. Jack is a true believer of building your own legacy, as such he's left Ray with naught but a mission to strike it out on his own. Currently: My father is commander hawkins, he's in the employ of the Haense's Navy. He's constantly being put down by his heartlander superiors and has fought tooth and nail to get where he is, even though he's better than most admirals. He hopes that I his Half-Heartlander son will be able to surpass him as I won't have to face the same level of prejudice that he did. They have a large bet on who can become Captain of their own ship first. My Mother is a Hearlander who lives comfortably managing her tradeships, she works as a successful merchant and has some degree of connections all throughout Haense. Ray has some levels of familiarity with smugglers, merchants, sailors, and the navy. However there are some high ranking politicians who are against his mother and father. Even cut off from them, they see him as extremely dangerous with the drive of his father and the charisma of his mother.
